Fear, Anxiety, and Love

Ch. 5: Together

  Darkness consumed the sun, bringing out the tiny specks of stars to light up the sky.

Since it was already too late to confront the principle about the events that occurred, Daichi and Sugawara decided to talk to him about it on Monday; today being a Friday.

Everyone had said their goodbyes and left to go home. Both Tanaka and Noya were going to join the third years in their own sleepover, needing their own kind of comfort.

Yamaguchi laced his fingers with Tsukishima's and held onto him like his life depended on it. With his free hand, the tall blonde carried both bags.

Hinata had jumped onto Kageyama's back and somehow managed to fall asleep with his cheek pressed firmly against his setter's right shoulder. He mumbled a few times, but it was too hard to understand.

Walking in the dark made Yamaguchi nervous.

Noticing this, Tsukishima held onto him tightly and ruffled his dark hair every now and then.

It didn't take long to reach their destination since it was just about a mile or two  away from the school. They all walked silently even after the four were inside and settled in.

"Make yourselves at home", Tsukki pushed his glasses up higher on his nose, watching Kageyama lay Hinata on the bed. He didn't stay asleep, though.

"Mhmm..." A muffled murmur was heard after a few shuffling, and Hinata was sitting up, rubbing his eyes. Kageyama blushed softly and stared at the wall.

Both him and the host of their little slumber party were leaned side by side against the bed frame.

Yamaguchi moved from his spot on the floor to the bed, nuzzling his nose into Hinata's chest. They laid down together and closed their eyes, pulling each other closer, their arms and legs entangled.

"So cute..." Kageyama mumbled, earning a sideways glance from Tsukishima.

Then, he smiled and nodded his head slowly, his bright hair bouncing . "Ya, kinda is..."

After a little while, the small boys began to whimper against each other, Yamaguchi shaking and gripping onto the spiker's arm.

Kags and Tsukki shared glances and got up, moving on opposite sides of the two. Tsukishima wrapped his arm around Yamaguchi's waist and used the other to play with his hair.

Kageyama did the same but used both arms to protectively move around his orange-haired sunshine. One pulled the blankets around them all.

It didn't take long for all four boys to fall into a deep, restful sleep.
