I ran as fast as I could without looking back. I tightened my backpack as much as I could. looking back I knew that I couldn't stay in this house never mind this town for another waking second. I knew if I stayed here any longer it would kill me.
As I got to the driveway I saw them. It was a race against time itself and life or death. Running to my car, I had felt my parents trailing behind me. Their screams sounded like nails on a chalk board, unfortunately that unbearable noise was reoccurring. It had become my second nature to tune it out. Finally reaching the door, I was able to yank the door open. I felt a tight grip on my arm. my father kept squeezing tighter and tighter. I saw my life flash before my eyes as I escaped his grasp.
After slamming the door shut I put my car in reverse and didn't look back.
As tears streamed down my face I knew it would all be okay. As I neared the end of my street I watched the sunset die as I edged to my new life.

I had everything I could ever want as a child; I had the white picket fence home, a mother and father that seemed to be so in love it was almost suffocating to watch. I had a perfect life. As I got older I watched my life pass me by as my friends were living their lives for them. Me however, I was going through the same motions in life day after day. I was so sick and tired of being who my parents wanted me to be. I needed a way out. It was truly exhausting being told what I was going to do and not living for me. Everything changed as soon as I met Alex.
