As soon as Carl had been shot, Rick ran as fast as he could to the house where the man, Otis, had directed him to, and didn't think twice about it. Otis was following behind Shane, who was following closely behind Rick, bawling his eyes out for accidentally shooting the young boy. If he didn't make it, Otis didn't know how long he would have until the guilt would eat him alive. The group of three, eventually made their way to the house, finding the twins sitting on the porch. The two had gotten up to investigate what was happening, and couldn't believe their eyes. Carl was getting heavy in his arms as Rick had carried him for quite some time, and he was not small enough to be carried.

Shaylee had called to her father, as soon as the group of four had made their way to them, and as soon as Rick's pleading eyes met hers, she swore she could see the entire ocean in his blue eyes, and she also knew she had never seen that much pain... Little did Rick know as he looked in her light brown/hazel eyes...That his whole world had changed.

Shaylee.

"Dad! Daddy!" I cried, as this man's icy blue eyes cut deep into my soul. His eyes were welling up with tears, and filled with so much pain that it actually cut into my heart...I didn't even know this man and his emotions were taking a toll on me. He was wearing a sheriff's uniform, his hat dangling off of his head, and his shirt covered in the boy's blood.

Dad came sprinting out the front door then, Beth and Patricia not far behind him. He took one look at the boy and said; "Was he bit?"

"Shot, by your man." The man's deep, raspy voice ground out, he was panting heavily.

"Otis?"

"He said 'find Hershel.' " He panted out. "Is that you?" Dad nodded his head quickly. There his eyes went again, showing all that pain and worry. "Help me...Help my boy." He pleaded. I even felt my own eyes watering, I didn't know this man, I didn't know his son...But, how much pain his eyes possessed just did something to me and I don't know why...

Dad didn't waste any time before getting into action. "Get him inside! Patricia, I need my full kit." Patricia sprinted back into the house, the rest of us following, and I knew exactly where dad was going to lead the boy, into the guest bedroom. I guess dad being a veterinarian came in handy during the apocalypse. "Maggie?"

Right behind me, was a faint "Yeah?"

"Pain killers, coagulates...Grab everything." Dad led us into the guest room. "In here." He laid the young boy on the bed, before shouting more orders at everyone. The man laid the boy down on the bed, and then began to hover over him, tears making their way down his dirty face.

"I-Is he alive?"

"Put pressure on the wound."

"I-Is he alive?!"

"I've got a heartbeat, it's faint." I let go of the breath I didn't even know I was holding... "Shay, IV." I grabbed the IV that was in Beth's hand, giving her a slight nod, before handing it to dad, as he began to immediately hook the young boy up to it...The man was full on sobbing now, breaking my heart even more...I wish there was something I could do to comfort him, but there was nothing... "We need some space...Your name?"

"R-Rick." He stuttered out.

"Rick?"

"I-I'm R-Rick." This poor man...

"Rick, we're gonna do everything we can, okay? You need to give us some room." His attention then briefly turned to me. "Shaylee here can keep you some company, won't you Shay?" Rick's blue eyes went from dad, right to me...And it sent shivers right through me. I nodded my head.
