You don't appreciate the warmth,
until you meet the ice.
You don't appreciate depth,
until you meet ignorance.
You don't resent wrath,
until you meet friendship.
You don't resent betrayal,
until you meet loyalty.
You don't adore the rain,
until you meet the dry.
You don't adore the smile,
until you meet the frown.
You don't despise the guy,
until you meet the truth.
You don't despise the mistake,
until you meet the right.
You don't realise the gradual change,
until you meet the great inner you.
You don't realise the vain excuses,
until you meet the honest you.
You don't realise much,
before and after.
That one moment is enlightenment,
and the rest, vague ever after.
Do you?
