Chapter 2
"Holy Hades! It's a real house! Inside of the wall!" Mavis exclaimed excitedly "Mom?" I called out "Ma are you home?"
I heard a small squeak, "ALEXANDRIA DIOS MIO IS THAT YOU?!" Angelos rushed into the room and slammed into my arms, "oh my baby I thought I'd never see you again! Are you hurt? How did you get here??" Mavis looked genuinely confused, "err Alex why are you calling her mom..?" She asked, "well Mav, it's a long story, and I promise to explain the entire thing when we get back, but right now I'm hungry and you need a shower, correct?" After we'd eaten and Mavis was taking her shower, I sat down on the leather couch with Angelos. "So Mom, you're probably wondering why I'm here.." I said slowly, "well I assume it's not for a friendly visit, what do you need?" She said flatly. I tried to hide the pain behind my eyes, "I need your blessing, and Kaledtops." She looked at me in stunned silence, "I raised you, I fed you, now you need my blessing, and my horse?" I wanted to roll my eyes, did she call Kaledtops a horse? He was a skeletal pegasai, he was also a way out of the underworld, the last of his breed, mane and tail of fire, eyes glowing red, horns, he was hardly a horse. "Yes, I know it's a lot, but I you owe me, I saved you from being Hades other wife." I said nervously. She squinted her eyes, "alright, I suppose, but I won't let you leave quite yet, stay for another day, it's lonely here, Persephone visits occasionally but not nearly enough." I smiled "Alright, I'm going to get some sleep, I had a long day."

A blood curdling scream rang through the air, I looked around. When did I get back to camp? Who was screaming? I looked down the hill, and he stood there, with a knife to his neck, golden ichor running down his shoulder. My heart stopped and I began to run down towards him, but he was getting no closer. A sickening laugh filled the air, "Poor poor girl, it seems you've fallen for a god! How does it feel to know you can't have him, how would you like to watch him die?" I screamed out "Leave him alone!! Gods be damned Gaea, let him go!!" Her twisted laugh sounded again, "How does it feel to love the sun, knowing you'll never have him?" My eyes shot open, I was back in my room, it was only a nightmare. I was soaked in sweat, how did Gaea know? I told no one, did she have entrance to my thoughts? I cursed her name and quickly jumped in the shower. I walked out to find Mavis glaring at me, and Angelos was nowhere to be seen. I looked at the pancakes and bacon sitting on the table, I suddenly realized how famished I was. I got my food and sat down across from Mavis, "so are you gonna tell me whats wrong or are you going to continue sulking like a baby?" I asked, she looked up and said "when were you gonna tell me that Kaledtops only carries one person? We're you gonna leave me here?" I stood in shocked silence, why the hell would she think that? "Mavis Kal can hold 3 people, not just one, where did you get that idea from??" She glared at me, and spoke with icy contempt, "Your mother toldme." I looked around, I knew it was a bad idea! "She lied because she's lonely, but we have to leave now, I'll get Kal pack our stuff." I said panicked. I ran outside to the cavern to see Kaldetops tied outside, I yelled inside, "MAVIS WE HAVE TO GO NOW, HURRY!" I sat on the horses back and adjusted the reigns, mavis ran out the door and jumped on "So why the sudden rush?" she asked, "Well my mom is going to get sealed into her chamber for another 15 years, the door can only be opened every 15 years, because she is a prisoner of Hades." I proclaimed. Mavis's eyes widened, "Is that why you never told me?" She asked, I let out a long sigh and said "Yea, I guess that's it."
