Chapter 2 - The Casting Call

"Hi, my name is Caroline King, and I'll be singing One Last Time, by Ariana Grande."  She looked into her camera that sat on a tripod a few feet in front of her.  Caroline took a deep breath and started to sing.

   "I was a liar, I gave into the fire.  I know I should've fought it, at least I'm being honest..."

   When she finally finished the song, she took another deep breath.  "If you guys liked this cover, please leave a like and subscribe.  I make new covers every single day!  Bye guys!" she said, with a big smile.  She got up off her bed and walked towards her camera.  She stopped recording and then jumped back onto her bed. Her channel had grown so much in the past couple of weeks. She went from having 200 subscribers and 50 views per video to over 3,000 subscribers and getting hundreds of views on every video. And she was still growing rapidly.

Of course she was only 18 and still had to finish high school, but she knew after that, she was moving to Hollywood and getting out of Michigan. Caroline was meant for bigger and better things. But, that's about all she knew. Caroline didn't know how she was going to save the money to head to California and buy a house, but she knew she had to.

Her phone buzzed on the bedside table next to her. It was a message from her friend on Snapchat. She unlocked her phone and went to Snapchat. The snap was a picture of a piece of paper that read: CASTING. Caroline was always looking for new auditions to get her name out there. She snapped back, asking her friend what play it was. Two minutes later she got a reply that said they were casting extras for a movie they were shooting in Megg Falls. Caroline almost jumped out of her bed. She was going to be in a movie. Well of course, she had to go to the casting director and they had to cast her, but she knew she was going to get in the movie.

She ran downstairs and into the living room where her grandpa was. "GRANDPA!" she screamed. "They're shooting a movie her in Megg Falls and they're casting extras and I'm going to go and get cast in a movie and then I'm going to become famous and move to Hollywood and make millions of dollars and—"

"Caroline, Caroline, slow down, honey," her grandpa said, slowly getting up off the couch. "What's going on?"

"Well, my friend just told me that they're casting extras for a movie that they're shooting her in town!"

"And?"

"And I'm going!"

"That's great, Liney! Do you know where they're holding them?"

That thought hadn't crossed Caroline's brain. "Well, no, but I'll ask her!"

"Okay then! When you win your first Oscar, you better thank me in your speech!"

"Grandpa, I'm obviously going to win a Grammy before an Oscar, but when I do win, I'll make sure to thank you."

"Alright, sweetie, go get 'em!"

Caroline snapped her friend back, asking when and where the casting was. She went to the casting, completely unaware that a family was being murdered, a man named Elijah Michaelson would enter her life, and she would get cast as an extra in a movie.
