Taking the Reigns

(Note: A few of you guys were a little bit confused with the video last chapter. I know that it's Brie in the video, but that it what I have to work with. Just try to imagine Brie as Ariana in this case. Thank you and enjoy!)

As his lips crashed into mine there were so many feelings taking over me. I was surprised at his actions, relieved that he was okay, and I could feel the butterflies in my stomach explode. It felt so right I didn't want it to end our lips were perfectly in sync with eachother. The moment ended seconds later when he pulled away. I looked into his eyes and saw guilt, but why? He slowly pushed me away and stormed out of the lockeroom leaving me there clueless to what just happened.

As soon as Roman stormed out Nikki, Brie, Paige, and Nattie walked in. They all came up to me and gave me a hug asking if I was alright.

"Was that part of your script?" Nikki asked.

"No. I didn't even know what was going on."

My eyes turned to Paige standing there guiltily.

"Paige did you know? You seemed to know exactly when to leave the ring." Brie said getting up in her face.

Paige took a deep breath. " I didn't know that was going to happen I swear. Triple H only told me to get out of the ring when the lights changed. He said it was a suprise and everything was okay. I only did what I was told. I'm so sorry!" She said. I knew that she was telling the truth she was only doing what she was told so there was no reason to get upset with her.

I gave her a hug and told her it was okay.

"Ari. It's uncle Bret he wants to talk to you like right now." Nattie said holding out her phone. I knew he was going to tell me something about what happened. I reached for the phone and excused myself.

"Hi pop" I said nervously.

"Are you alright?!"

"I'm fi-"

"Are you really!? It sure as hell doesn't look like it."

" I'm fine dad it was part of my Storyline."

He knew I was lying he always knew.

"Stop lying to me! I can tell the difference between acting and real fear. I could see it in your eyes Ariana. What the hell was Hunter thinking?! I knew you should've stayed home instead of joining the company. This too much for you."

"I can handle this pop. Don't worry about me. I'm okay. I'll go home if it goes too far. I love you dad." I said and hung up not goving him the chance to change my mind. I walked back and returned Natties phone and walked off. Brie ran behind me calling my name. I turned and looked at her, she had this weird grin on her face like she knew something.

"What?" I said wiping sweat off my forehead. Brie crossed her arms a gave me a creepy little grin.

"I saw Roman storm out of the room missy. What was that all about?"

My mind went back minutes ago to that moment when Romans lips were on mine. I knew I had a goofy grin on my face aswell. Brie smiled and jumped on me.

"You kissed didn't you?!" She said smiling wider. I covered her mouth and laughed. She licked my hand so I would move it and asked what happened.

"He came to the room and wouldn't stop knocking on the door till I opened it. I thought he was mad at me so I was going to apologize and then he just kissed me. It was weird. It felt so right though."

" He seemed so protective of you in the ring I could see it hell everyone could see it. I just dont understand why he was ignoring you that whole time. It doesn't make sense. I knew he liked you!"

Brie had a point. It didn't make sense at all. I needed to know why this happened. I need to find him. I told Brie that I needed to go and ran looking for him.

After looking almost everywhere I ended up in the same spot where he parked his car last time. It was my last hope. Only this time I didn't hide. I turned the corner and saw him leaning on his car. He looked at me and looked back down.

"Why?" Was all I could say. He kept his head down and took a deep breath.

"Just go. Don't worry about it. It was nothing."

"No." It took all of myself not to just walk off. I'll admit, I was alittle afraid but I was not going to give in.

"Go!" He said raising his voice. I took a ballsy step and walked twards him. I could feel my heart beating from my ears.

"No. You aren't going to do this again. You aren't going to push me away. You can do this to anyone else, but you will not do this to me anymore. We have a good time and then you ignore me. I always thought it was my fault and that I did something wrong, but it was never me. It was you Roman! You get close to someone and pull away." I said practically flailing my arms around like a maniac. Roman stood there in silence with a hard look on his face.

"Why do you do that? You saved my life and then ignored me. You helped me out and I let you stay at my home and all I did was be nice to you and then you avoided me again. I help you out when you were in trouble and you ignored me after. Today you saved me again and then after all that time you come seeme in the lockeroom and kiss me without explanation shocker you walked away and tried to avoid me. This time I'm not letting you do that." I took a deep breath. " I have you all figured out. You play it off like some hot muscular mean guy who's all mysterious and shit, but you're not. You had something happen to you that cause you to shelter yourself. You push away anyone that could possibly care about you because you're afraid. I'm probably the dumbest woman alive because I have feelings for you and you don't give a damn, but I like you anyways. That kiss wasn't nothing Roman. I felt something there, I hope you did too." For some reason I began to cry halfway through my little speech. I wanted him to know what I felt and what he was doing, but when I looked at him he still had that look on his face.

"You know what just forget what I said this was pointless. You don't even care." I said wiping my face and turning to walk away.

"Wait." He said unexpectedly. I turned twards him and he walked my way. As he approached me he put his hands on my shoulders.

" Don't ever say that I don't care. I distance myself because I care. You don't know me like you think you do. I didn't want you to get hurt. Everyone and everything gets destroyed whenever I get close to it and I won't let that happen to you. You walked into the gym that day and you were just so beautiful I knew that there was going to be a problem. I needed to protect you but at a distance. Then came RAW and we had the storyline together. What I said was true and when I gave you the ride home that was the the best night I had in a long time but I knew I was getting too close so I ran. Tonight they went after you because of me. They hurt you and it was all my fault. I care about you too much for my own good and you're right. It does scare me, but I can't not see you and be around you. I want you and I need you." He said and stared me in the eyes. I didn't care at this point and I went for it. I cupped my hands around his face and slammed my lips onto his.

At this moment I knew things were going to be different.
