After quite a few days had passed, Jeongyeon and Nayeon never crossed paths. It was the day of Nayeon's first "date" with Jay. The two had been texting nonstop and Jay couldn't help but feel an intense attraction to the brunette beauty.
Nayeon was walking down the hallways when Jay wrapped his hands around her waist and hugged her from behind. Nayeon didn't want to admit it to herself but she missed the way that Jeongyeon would hug her from behind. She would quickly grab her from behind and tickle her a bit, she would then squeeze her torso and whisper something in her ear. Oh, how she wished the arms around her were Jeongyeon's.
"Hi Jay!" Nayeon said gleefully, smiling at him falsely.
"Hey there, Nayeon." Jay beamed. "Are you excited for tonight?" He asked her, grabbing her hand. His hands were dry and cold, they felt lifeless.
"Of course I am!" Nayeon saw Jeongyeon behind Jay. In a last ditch effort to make Jeongyeon jealous, she pulled him into her chest and began to kiss him. To Nayeon's advantage, Jeongyeon saw this, her face began to redden and she walked down the hallway.
"What was that?" Jay asked, he began to blush, a smile appeared on his face.
"I like you, a lot. And I couldn't help myself."
"I can help you." He said, leaning in once more. She forced herself to kiss him. His lips were scratchy and his breath smelled of faded mint. She liked the way Jeongyeon kissed. She liked her lips, no, she loved her lips. They were soft and they fit perfectly on to hers.
"I'll see you in last period." She waved at him flirtatiously and she frantically ran to her sixth period class. She shared almost every class with Jeongyeon. They dated from the eighth grade to (of course) junior year, meaning that they purposefully picked their classes so they'd have ones in common. There were upsides and downsides to this. Upside, getting to make snarky and sarcastic remarks at Jeongyeon. Downside, Jeongyeon.
"Bonjour la classe , comment allez-vous aujourd'hui?" Mrs. Johnson asked the class, sitting in her desk chair. A few people raised their hands. Both Nayeon and Jeongyeon's hands shot up right away.
"Nayeon?" Mrs. Johnson asked.
"Je suis juste incroyable aujourd'hui. J'ai rendez-vous ce soir avec le garçon que j'ai vu récemment." Nayeon responded, smirking at Jeongyeon. (I am simply amazing today. I have a date tonight with the boy I've been seeing, as of late.)
"Amazing job, Nayeon. How about you go, Jeongyeon? Share how you are feeling." Mrs. Johnson said in her typical happy-go-lucky tone.
"Je fais très mauvais. Mais qui se soucie de moi, non?" Jeongyeon said in a very passive-aggressive tone. (I am very bad. But who cares about me, right?)
"Oh, I'm Jeongyeon, look at me. I'm so depressed and I wear all black and think I'm the shit." Nayeon pouted, mocking Jeongyeon foolishly.
At this point Nayeon and Jeongyeon were shouting at each other in French while the rest of the class was watching in embarrassed shock.
"Settle down class, settle down, put away your devices and calm down." Mrs. Johnson said to the class. "Both of you, detention."
"She started it!" Jeongyeon shouted, raising her hands into me air.
"You initiated the argument, you'll pay the price." Mrs. Johnson said, turning on her projector.
"That's not fair!"
"Hall, now. You too, Nayeon. You can come back in after you two have discussed your differences." Mrs. Johnson said, picking up her clipboard.
Jeongyeon and Nayeon both stood up walked out to the hallway.
Jeongyeon opened the door for Nayeon and sarcastically said, "M'lady," to aggravate Nayeon. She knew just how to get under her skin.
"Can it!" Nayeon exclaimed, slamming her back into the purple lockers and sliding down them. Folding her arms in frustration, Jeongyeon sat down next to her.
Twenty minutes passed, which turned into a half hour, into fourth minutes, soon only five minutes of class were left and one of the students from Mrs. Johnson's class came out side of the door to alert the two of them. "Five minutes, guys."
The two sat up and glared at each other, tensions rising between them. The last fifteen minutes of class were full of Nayeon making rude remarks about Jeongyeon behind her back. A few notes were sent to her too. Nayeon loved being petty. It was her thing. Jeongyeon always brought out the best in Nayeon, she inspired her to be a good and spontaneous person. She inspired her to be herself. Since Jeongyeon wasn't around to advise her to be the bigger person, Nayeon could do what she wanted.
It was almost time for Nayeon's big 'date'. But she knew something was missing. She almost felt as if she needed Jeongyeon's approval to see Jay.
Nayeon used her key to Jeongyeon's fence and went over to her first-story bedroom window and knocked. A half-naked Jeongyeon appeared at the window. "What is it? Don't you have a date?"
"I just want to ask to about what happened earlier. With you and what happened in sixth period." Nayeon twiddled her thumbs and her long nails made a noise as she ran them up against each other.
"Who are you talking to?" A female voice came from the bathroom in Jeongyeon's room.
"I was just upset, but it's okay. I'm over it now. You should go, bun." Jeongyeon said in an apologetic tone. It didn't sound fervent to Nayeon.
Jeongyeon closed the window on Nayeon and a half-naked blonde walked out of the bathroom, letting a robe fall off her almost, naked body. She went up to Jeongyeon and began to kiss her. Nayeon ran back to her house and fiddled with the front door before beginning to cry. Was this what Jeongyeon felt when Nayeon did this to her? This burning sensation in her stomach? Nayeon couldn't even call Jeongyeon hers' but it still hurt her more than anything to see that.
