"oh bryana what if he's my soulmate?" calum sighed flopping onto his bed.

"shut up calum you fall in love about 10 times a day," she rolled her eyes, although she was happy for calum. she hoped it was the real deal.

calum giddily got ready, hangover not in effect due to him still being the slightest bit drunk.

"i'm so happy i even can't wait to go to work, which i'm gonna be late for by the way, bye bry!" calum yelled out the door deciding walking beat traffic.

he speed walked the couple blocks to the bookstore and clocked in deciding not to fudge the numbers today.

he sat down picking up non other than great gatsby a book he honestly enjoyed, even when it was first introduced to him in high school curriculum.

he imagined michael reading it and giggled slightly, he couldn't help it.

finally, his love life was working out.

"young man what's got you all happy and love struck?" edith's familiar voice rang out through the front of the shop.

"edith!" calum cried happily before running to wrap his arms around her.

"i knew it, who's the lucky fellow?" she asked after inspecting calum's smiling face.

"a cute boy kissed me," calum finally said bashfully.

"oh my! you know if it gets serious you must bring him to dinner at my place to meet me," she said before setting more used books in the slot.

"you know i will," he smiled as she walked through the aisles of books.

"do you have anything fritz might like? he's into all those historical fiction stories," she asked and calum happily showed her to the section she was looking for.

"ah here's one he wanted can you ring this up for me?" she asked.

"it's on me, give fritz my best," calum replied before getting a bag and putting the book inside.

"calum you know i hate it when you pay for me like that! i'm old i don't need the paycheck a like you, just let me pay!" she exclaimed as calum shooed her out the door.

"have a good day now edith!" he called and she sighed but smiled anyway before crossing the street to her car.

the rest of the day calum boxed up books and placed new ones on the shelves.

it was a bit busier than he would've expected on a weekday but he didn't mind. usually the bookstore was quiet and peaceful letting calum get homework and reading done. he was always much more happy at work when he felt useful, however, so he didn't mind the crowds.

when he was finally finished with his shift he was quite tired but still happy to go to art class.

he walked down the block to the studio ready to work on a new piece for the class.

he was glad he ended up actually doing well in the class since it was in fact a school credit towards his semester.

he plopped down on the stool just as he had on tuesday and got out his sketchbook and pencil.
