Aaron's POV
The other students paid me no attention as I jogged down the hallway. I wasn't a nerd, but I wasn't a known face at SCA. Well, except in basketball. I liked not having the attention though. No friends meant no secrets.
I saw the back of the school's 'football genius' and tapped him on the shoulder lightly.
"Hm?" he muttered as he turned around. When he saw it was me, he gave me a hard glare.
"What do you want, Mandler?"
"Oh I think you know what I want, Robertson."
The jock motioned for his friends to leave. As soon as we were alone, he turned back to me. "What's this about?"
"I thought we agreed to no more from SCA." I growled.
"How are we supposed to memorize every insolent teenager that lives here?"
"I don't know, but you'd better figure it out. I'll let you off with a warning this time, but trust me when I say this. You're next."
"Don't threaten me."
"You're right. And I'm sure new girl would love to hear all about this. She's your sister, is she not?"
"You stay the hell away from Jane or so help me I will-"
"What? Kill me? I'd like to see you try."
"Just stay away from my sister."
"Follow the code, and we'll get along just fine." I spat before I walked away.
That went exactly as I'd planned.

Jane's POV
I leaned against the wall, a smug look on my face, as the students filed down the hallway silently. The fire alarm blared and the teachers looked nervous as they followed their classes closely.
"What have you done now?"
I didn't even flinch as I felt Aaron's annoyed stare on my cheek. I turned to him calmly, my arms still crossed over my chest.
"This is how I entertain myself. If you don't like it, then go tell someone who cares."
"Are you telling me to notify a teacher?"
"Do what you want, Aaron." I snapped.
"I wasn't going to tell anyone, if that's what your implying. I'm not that kind of person."
"Would've fooled me."
"Don't assume. That would make you quite the hypocrite."
"How so?"
"If you defend yourself as not being a delinquint, then you have no right to think of me as a nerd."
"Oh. I thought you were going to explain what 'hypocrite' means in that sentence, so I don't care anymore."
Aaron sighed, "You are not like most girls."
"Aren't I?" I asked, actually surprised with his reply.
"No, you are not. You act like your brother."
"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"
"Depends. Dean Robertson I find ignorant and annoying. He is stubborn, close-minded, and strong."
"Isn't he on the Honor Role?"
"Barely."
"So, basicly, you hate me."
"I wasn't finished. Dean Robertson may be all of those things, and I hate him because of it. But, it looks kind of cute on you." Aaron said matter-of-factly as he brushed past me and made his way out the main door.
Was that....a compliment?
I sighed and looked at the wall behind me, placing my hand on the activated fire alarm. Everything was complicated right now. Why can't being a teenager be simple?"
***Sorry for the short chapter! By the way, thank you guys for all the support! This is probably my favourite story that I've written and I've got some interesting ideas for later! Mwahaha! So many secrets yet to be revealed. And heard of I guess....
Anyway, the big reveal and stuff that everyone already knows is next chapter, so it might change how you see some of the characters.
