"You're awake!" A high voice said from my left. I had been staring at the ceiling for quite some time now, I'm surprised she hadn't noticed I was awake earlier. "It's only 7:00, though, usually our new ones tend to take awhile after the stressful day they had earlier," she added.
"Yeah well, I always have been an early riser."
"Hey, me too! Well anyways I'm sure you have a lot of questions and stuff, but there should be someone coming around here to help you around soon," she told me. "Bye the way, I'm Cara."
She reached out and shook my hand which I returned awkwardly. "I'm Alexia," I informed her blankly.
About a half hour later a guy in an army green button up came to my shared room door. "I'm Kyle and I think I'm supposed to show Alexia around today? Is she here?" He said as he looked over my shoulder.
"Yup that's me." I told him.
"Oh! It's just that you look familiar I thought I had already seen you here or something," he stuttered.
"Okay well, let's get started?"
"Yeah maybe that would be a good idea."
He said it more to himself than he did to me.

"The Euro Training System is a complex, sophisticated type school that uses technology to teach selective fifteen through eighteen year olds how to use their skills in the environment of war," said a woman about my mother's age. She had greyed hair at the edges and long wrinkles that showed years of stress and emotion.
I was in the assembly, the one they hold every month for all the new fifteen year olds that have come. No one really knew much about the ETS before age fifteen, mostly because after you left you were instructed to keep it top secret.
"You will be trained in one of four categories that you have chosen when you first were introduced here. Fraca, the soldiers and fighters, Astuit, the strategists, captains, pilots, generals, and commanders, Convale, the nurses and doctors, and Recon, our spies and our espionage services. If you are here you have chosen Astuit, the brains of the group. No person can truly be categorized because of human qualities and uniqueness, so if you after time do not feel satisfied with your choice, you may switch. If you fail your exam however at the age of 18, you will work in other services than the war effort."
It was hard to take it all in. I had no clue what I was doing here, I mean, me? A commander of general? Yeah, right.
"There is also one more category that you could fall into, but the things in there we have are so valued to us that we keep it away from you in the case that our enemies found this school."
Earlier in my life when I was about five I went to a small primary school just like everyone else up until I was ten.
After that, all the other ten year-olds and me were instructed to help my family out until I was fifteen.
Which is when I was chosen for ETS. Most do get chosen for it, but some don't. Some have to go off and farm food or work in manufacturing war supplies it something. That's what my mother did, up until the twins were born.
But if I failed, that could be me, too.
