(I was emo) and that's fine I guess

you are me as I am you...
sometimes I go about fixing myself in all the wrong ways.
I used to see myself as a materialistic static being,
that should solidify in order to be grounded.
a split wound who has to be forced to stay closed,
no matter how bad it wants to stay open.
now, I'm starting to see myself as a collage
and maybe all my broken pieces come together and form something beautiful.
maybe they weren't meant to fit perfectly together.
they are meant to exist as pieces that connect thematically.
I am the theme
to make room for more pieces
that fit together unevenly
but to one day create
a better collage of myself.
we are all beings of energy on a serpentine path of existence.
maybe the solution is to accept that you ARE and always will BE.
rejoice in your unevenness,
embrace your tattered edges,
love yourself as an everlasting being of light
and never forget that
you are your own theme.
