Hide Or Die

Chapter 1: Friends

Jackie's POV

       Hi! My name is Jackie Forestdale. I'm eleven years old and I'm the only child, but I have friends to keep me company. My bestfriend, Holly Carson, is 12 but I don't care. She rarely ever spends time with me now she's in middle school. It sucks that we're on different halls. That's not even the point. Its that her and Mackenzie Hawkins are besties. For some strange reason Mackenzie doesn't like me, so since she doesn't like me, me and Holly can't spend time together.
       Anyways I'm a little off track. So, I also have other friends. There's Dylan, Angeline, Max, Pearl, and Arianna. We all are 11 years old. Sometimes Holly comes around for a good hide and seek match. She's really good but I'm better. Sometimes we have one on one, and its really funny when she loses and she makes this face that looks like Grumpy. You know one of the 7 dwarfs.
      I mean I'm not the type to laugh at people's failures, but she looks like a tall grimlin when she's angry. Anyway I'm done talking about her, because in a couple of hours they all should come to play hide and seek with me. I really love the way my life is going. I mean this is what an only child would call paradise. I live in a three floor mansion. My room is on the the first floor. I'm also in gymnastics. I think thats why I'm on the first floor. My mom thinks I'm going to do a cartwheel out of the window. Which i will never do. I'm taught  by professionals, and they only teach the best. I mean not to brag, but I am one of the best. I guess that's all from me for now.

     All the children got there, and prepared for the game. "Arianna your it." Dylan said while pointing a finger. "Why does Dylan get to pick? He always picks me." Arianna whined. "It was his turn to pick, and if your good enough than you might not stay it." Angeline sarcastically smiled. All the children went running. " 1...2..3..4...5....6...7..8...9....10 ready or not here I come!" Arianna looked back. She tip toed through the living room because she thought no one would hide there.
      Dylan peeked out from inside the couch cushion. I mean you have to think these are small 11 year olds. As soon as Arianna went into the kitchen, and was out of sight he climbed out and ran to base. Max started to sweat because he heard her footsteps getting closer toward him. Soon she pulled open the cabinet, AND a rat jumped out. "Ewwwww!" Arianna stomped on it. Max screwed up by giggling. She ran over to the back door and pulled it back. Max looked at her, and said "Man you know you cheated. You, you rat girl." "Are you mad or nah? Btw your brother snapped me your bed. You need to cut off on the water at night." Arianna wiped herself off. She ran back to Jackie's room. She looked in the closet, and tagged Holly. "Bruh what the fuck!?" Holly pushed Arianna. "Why you mad?" Arianna yelled.
     "And since when do you curse?" Arianna pushed Holly back. Holly ignored her, and walked over to Jackie's bed. Jackie crawled from under the other side of the bed and around, and she tagged base.

Arianna's POV

      I really don't know what's going on, with Holly but maybe in two weeks when school starts back up I can snoop around. I mean I know Mackenzie has something to do with this 'new' Holly. Anyway, I was missing one person. Can you guess who? Yup, it was Angeline. I knew she was around the corner, but only because she has bad sinuses.
      She reached her hand in, and tried to touch the door and poked me in the eye. I blinked my eyes a couple times, and grabbed her hand. "Your it!" Arianna pulled her. Angeline yanked forward. "Oh my god! Whatever its okay." Angeline pushed Arianna out the way to count. I mean if I was the old me I'd knee her in the face, but I'm Arianna Lee I no longer make people's teeth fall out. So, like any other kid would do I ran to hide.
     I tried the laundry room, but Dylan was in there. I tried Mr.Forestdale's room but Holly was in there. I had no idea where Jackie nor Max was because They are really good. I heard her on 6. So I went ahead, and hid in plain sight. I mean I really didn't think it would work, but I had no choice. Then it hit me. Ow! Literally somebody opened the hallway closet, and hit me in the face. You know it happened right on time because Angeline ran out right passed it. I ran to base, and tagged it. I looked back and saw red streaming from my nose.
I knew I couldn't move from base because if I did that there wasnt a lot of time for me to stop the blood, and still be able to get on base. I mean could I really have enough time to do that. I mean I just sat back on the door, and let the blood run. I mean I didn't even mind it.
      Jackie popped up out of no where. She screamed when she saw my face. "What happened to you?" Jackie grabbed some Kleenex off her dresser. She handed it to me, and still was on base. Dylan came running into the room, and behind him was Holly. They both touched base, and looked down. "Ooooooh." Dylan looked at me. I mean I didn't look that bad.

Dylan's POV

Oooooh. I mean I really didn't want to say what I wanted to, but like blood was everywhere. She had stained her pink shirt with her blood. I'm not really the one who cares in our friend group, but like for Arianna I would do anything. I already know what you idiots are thinking! I don't like her! I don't, okay! Jackie raced to help Arianna as much as she could. Angeline stood there freaked out from the blood. Holly secretly smiled thinking no one saw her.
"Holly you got a lot of nerve to do that." I said defending Arianna in her state she couldn't kick Holly's butt. "Doing what?" Holly fluttered her eyes as if she was seducing me. I don't no what that word means, but I heard my dad telling my mom that a woman seduced him to sleep with her. But that's besides the point. "Smile about this! You dumb bitch! Your not even a real friend. You think your all that, and a bag of chips. But bitch your just a crumb. Just like Mackenzie!" Dylan snapped.

Everyone stood still in shock. Holly began to cry, and she ran away. "Nice going Dylan the doofus." Angeline ran after her. Arianna was all cleaned up, and she turned to face me. "Its okay." Arianna hugged me. "No! I screwed up! Terribly!" I started to storm off. "Dylan." Jackie called my name. "Yeah?" I said kinda tense. "Its okay. I just can't tell you anything. But we're still cool. It would be probably best if you..... You know" Jackie opened the door. "Yeah okay. Go with your fake friend, but when she leaves you don't crawl back to me!" I walk out and started to walk home.

Holly's POV

     How dare he say something like that to me. I mean I'm Holly; the one and only. I mean it really didn't hurt, but at the same time WOW! I have to fulfill what I have to do so I can humiliate that little bitch Jackie. I mean we used to be super close, but then I met someone who pulled out my true potential. Mackenzie promised to take me straight to the top.
     So I continued to run, and 'cry' until they caught me. "Holly are you okay? He was just angry about Arianna that he saw things." Everyone piled around me. That's more like it, and now the grand finale. "Waaahhhh! He's so rude! I would never laugh at my best friend's misfortune." I grabbed out a tissue, and wiped my eyes.
    I fake called my mom, and as if she told me to walk home alone. I can't believe I never took theater. I mean I'm the bomb. Anyways back on track, so then Jackie asked me could she walk me half way. "Please, I don't want you to feel so low walking by yourself."
    I'll be fine, I told her. So, then I  started to walk away. Immediately when I couldn't see them anymore, I called my true bff Mackenzie. The most popular girl in J.K. Lawson Academy.

"Hello."

"What's going on?" Mackenzie asked.

"Nothing. I can't wait til' school starts, so I can get rid of Jackie Forestdale."

"That's what I like to hear." Mackenzie giggled.

"I'm good to come over?"

"Nahhh. I'm busy helping my mom with yard stuff." Mackenzie sounded suspect.

"Ok. Catch you later then."

    She sounded like she was up to no good. But then again she is Mackenzie. I guess I shouldn't worry much. I mean I am just one of the groupies. Not for long though, because when I reach the top its gonna be bye-bye Mackenzie.
