I fell down a staircase which led to a dark basement under the room. My back was hurting as if someone hit it with a big steel rod, but the moment I looked at the basement, I forgot all about that. It was so big and dark. It also had a big cupboard and a small bed. I was excited to unclose their secret, but I also was scared as I was alone in the house.

I quickly took my torch which I always have in my pocket and ran at the cupboard and started searching for evidences but I found some dresses and some jewelries and some of them were made of silver and gold so I suspected that I women lived there.

When I looked at the bed, I found some story books near the old pillow which was on full of dust. It proves that someone was living there and whoever he was, he loved reading books. I looked to the books clearly, but I did not read a single word because I hate reading but something was disturbing me. There was something written on the cover. As the book was so old I could not see it clearly so I colored very lightly on the written part with a pencil I had in my pocket. There was written 'From M to S with love'. I thought about it for a while. It might be initials of two names or two cord letters.

At that moment I suddenly remembered that my father's name starts with an M. His name is Marshal but who is S? My mother's name is Jenny and none of my family members' names start with an S. My next goal is to find out who S is. Because if M gave that book to S, S would have that book and S might be the person who lived here.

Suddenly something fell from the book. It was a very old paper. It was written by a very neat handwriting. "I am very sorry to do this to you, but as you knew my secret I can't let you go outside. I really don't want this secret to come in front of the society and to be humiliated. I know, after you knew my secret, you started hating me. So lock yourself in this room. It is the best for two of us. I am sorry, but I am helpless. –Your love, Marshal-. "

I was so shocked knowing that my dad was involved in this. But who can the S be? My dad always told me that my mom is his first love. Why did he lie to me? What was dad's secret? These questions are troubling me. To find the truth, I investigated more until I got a phone call. It was my dad asking me to open the door. He said he rang the bell many times, but I didn't open. I quickly put the things back and locked the room again so that no-one would suspect that I entered the room. As I open the door my Grandma said that because of the bad weather the flight was cancelled so they had to come back. "Dear, why is your shirt full of dust?" my mom asked. "When I was studying, my pencil went under the bed so I had to go under the bed to take it." This was the second lie I made to my family. The first lie was "I won't enter into that locked room." By entering there I broke a promise I made since I was little. "Dad, I am feeling a bit scared this night, can I sleep with you? Please." I asked. "Sure."

That night my mom, dad and I played truth or dare. When my dad chose truth, I asked him what his biggest secret is.
