The secret room

Chapter 3

My father smiled "Why are you so interested in my secretes? I am not someone who have a lot of secrets, right dear? He asked to my mother. "How would I know. Whenever I talk about that locked room you seem very disturbed and you even made me promise not ask about your past after we marry." " Who would want to think about there past? Lets sleep. Its too late already." My dad changed the topic and everyone went to sleep. My question is that why would my mom agree to not ask about his past. Its weird, I wouldn't even do such a stupid thing.

The following day, nobody was home when I came from school. I called my father and knew that my grandmother suddenly fell ill and everyone went abroad with her as her doctor was in Malaysia. He also said that it might take few days so he assigned someone to take care of me. I wonder who he is.
Soon I heard the bell ring so I went to answer the door and saw a friend who I met last year in the summer camp. "hey Shinichi! what are you doing here?" "Hi! I never thought I would meet you after the camp. you must be Marshal's son." " yeah! I guess my dad sent you. he told me that he assigned someone to come her for me. Well, they still think I am a kid and can't live on my own." "Good for you, my parents don't even care about me." Shinichi replied. I asked whether he still is interested in detective stuffs. "Wow! what happened? Is it that you got a case like before?" Shinichi started laughing. "Oh, not something like that. Its something serious but promise me not to tell my father nor anyone who lives in this house about it." "Of course! you can always trust me." Shinichi said with joy. "Come, I need to show you something." I took him to the closed room and told him about everything related to the room. "I am really interested in finding the truth but I think it's your father's secret so you shouldn't look forward with this case. Let it be." "No, I cant! Just like it is related to my father it is also related to me. If you don't wanna help then don't. I can investigate on my own." 

"No that's not what I meant, I would also like to investigate with you. That was just my opinion about this. According to what you said, I think there is something related to the lady who lived here and your father. I also think they got separated because of the so called secret." Shinichi decided to help me with the investigation. "I really feel like I am a cop. I think we should be police officers." I told to Shinichi. "I really don't think so. Being a private detective is much better. Anyway, we can't waste our time in these useless talks. we should be a little more serious about this" Shinichi also gave me the idea to take the woods from the wooden floor and check if something is hidden under the woods.
