Chapter 7

**** Present time (Saturday) ****

"Okay mom...alright...okay...can you just tell me when we get there? Okay..love you too...bye." I hung up the phone with my mom.

"Damn, she acts like we're not going to be there in 20 minutes." Kayla laughs.

We're all going to my moms house, she said there's a surprise waiting for me there.

Dee finally comes downstairs dressed in a Polo button up, Levi's and some white Polo shoes to match the shirt.

"You do realize we're only going to see my family right?" I ask him. It was a normal outfit but he made Kayla and I look under dressed with our black leggings and Victoria Secret T-shirts.

"See, now that's the kind of thinking that had you looking a mess in front of Bryson." He said grabbing his keys, "We're taking my car." he said walking out the door.

Kayla jumped in the front seat, knowing that I'm too tall to be comfortable in the back.

"I'm getting in the front on the way back." I mumbled stretching my legs across the backseat.

Pulling into the driveway I see an all black Charger from my window.

"I know damn well they didn't get Tyson a car! He just turned 16. I had to wait until graduation." I shout from the back seat.

"Calm down. What are you gonna make them do take it back? You better let my lil boyfriend be great. Stop hating" Kayla laughs at my jealousy.

My little brother Tyson had the biggest crush on Kayla when he met her. He's 4 tears younger than us but wasn't shy about his feelings. He isn't crushing anymore, but Kayla jokes around with him calling him her little boyfriend boosting him up, and he swears he's got all the juice.

But looking at the car my parents got for him apparently he does.

My mom comes running out of the house to the Jeep hugging Dee and Kayla before me. She compliments Dee on how handsome he looks and gives me a kiss on the cheek.

"Okay, I've got two surprises for you. The second one actually surprised me." She says.

Kayla walks into the house yelling "Where you at Bae?" And Dee walks in behind her laughing.

I'm getting ready to ask my mom about Tyson's new car when I hear Kayla scream. My mom laughs, clapping her hands.

"It looks like she found your surprise." She says. I run in the house ready to see whatever it is. It had to be amazing, whatever it was, if it got Kayla screaming.

I get in the house to see Bryson sitting in the living room looking at Kayla like she's crazy. When I walk in they both turn to me.

It would've been quiet if it wasn't for Dee. Who was leaning on the kitchen sink drinking a bottle of Coke laughing his ass off.

My mom walks over to Bryson, "He said hasn't seen you in a while and made me promise to keep it a secret.
But the first surprise was Jazz."

Jazz? I wonder in confusion, I'm still staring at Bryson and my mom when claps her hands and says Jazz again.

I look in the direction she's looking as a small uncoordinated red nose pit bull puppy comes half running half sliding into my mother's arms.

"She's your brothers," she tells me, as if she didn't just drop the Bryson bomb on me not even a whole ten seconds ago. "Your brother went out with your dad about an hour ago. And then Bryson came." She's still smiling oblivious to the state of shock Kayla and I are going through.
