He was now standing in front of my desk staring at me.  I was lost in his icy green eyes and my mind was wondering to places it probably shouldn't have been.  He suddenly tapped on my desk drawing me out of the trance he had me in.

"What do you want Jett?"  I asked some what mad that he was here in front of me.

"I wanted to see you."  He said

"How did you find me?"

"You are aware that it isn't hard to find anyone right?"

"I just thought I left you behind is all."

"You did but now I'm back.  You look good by the way."

"So now you have nice things to say."

"Yeah I learned a lot about life and the way we treat people after my daughter was born."  He said honestly.

"You have a daughter?"  I said almost confused

"Do you want to go for some coffee?  Maybe we can talk some more."  He asked looking hopeful

"I can show you to the best coffee shop in town but I don't want to sit and talk with you." I said sounding bitter

"Still so hurt by all those years ago."

"If you want coffee the time is now."

We walked to the coffee shop and i continued on for my lunch break.  I wanted to chat but I didn't want to relive the memories from high school.  They were bad enough without his added thoughts.  I didn't need him to apologize but i also didn't want to make seeing him a thing.  I already had too much going on with the kids and work, I was consumed.

I had been stalling for weeks as he kept at it.  He would show up daily at my desk for lunch and sometimes I would go with him other times i would tell him what was good and walk away.  I wasn't sure if I was ready to let go of the past just yet, even though it was clear he had changed some.  It was always hard for me to decipher what i wanted vs what I needed.  At this time it was clear I needed to focus on my children and my career.  He could be an added bonus but i wasn't ready to take on another child of the same age as Greyson.

After about a month and a half of ignoring his attempts I was going to give in and see where this was going to go.  I arranged for the babysitter Jade to work later so I could do something for me for once.

"Is this a date or are we just catching up?"  I asked hoping he would say that we were just going to catch up.

"I guess that would depend on what you want."

"I have too much at stake for this not to be something serious."  I said

"What do you have at stake?  I have my daughter Coraline to think about."  He barked

"There's Mr. Cocky himself rearing his ugly head.  You really know nothing about me.  I have to children and a work load bigger then you could imagine."  I barked back

"I didn't know you were married with children."  He said sinking his head down.

"Relax I'm not married.  We never got married he left right before our daughter was born.  Greyson is six and Serenity is three"

"I am sorry to hear that he just up and left.  Coraline is six as well, maybe were onto something here."  He said

I looked at him and my ear slightly pinked as i thought about the things I would like to do to him.  He was still good looking and I still feel the way I did in high school when he wasn't making fun of me of course.  He looked at me and had to have noticed i was staring at him.

"What are you staring at?"  He asked

"You" I said turning another shade of pink.

"Give me another chance, I've changed Paisley but you'll never know if you don't try.  Why did your ex leave anyway?"

"Children."  I said simply

"You have two children with him?"  he asked

"I was eight months pregnant when he decided we had differences in what we wanted in life."  I said as if this was old news

"I am sorry to hear that.  Coralines mom was the same way she gave me all of her rights when she was born.  She wanted to have her adopted out i said no and she asked and begged for an abortion.  I told her not a chance in hell.  I haven't seen her since."  He said

Here is where I end for the night.  I will add more in the days to come.  I know it's rather boring but the good stuff is coming.  I promise.
