A/N** This is my first fanfic about anybody so tell me ways I can become better! I hope to speed this up soon so that it will get more interesting!

Chapter 1

I wake up like any other day at university, with a headache and bags under my eyes. Staying up all night doing homework and taking 2 hour tumblr breaks is not good on the appearance. I get a cup of coffee and make myself some toast so that my stomach won’t be screaming at me during my classes. I put on a pair of old jeans and a hoodie and throw my hair in a high pony. Way to make yourself presentable. It’s not like I had anybody to impress anyway.

As I walk to class I get a text from Jessica, my one of very friends "Hey want to go to dinner later tonight Ryan is bringing some of his friends ;)" ugh she is always trying to set me up with people ever since me and Josh broke up. ‘I guess that would be fun," I reply as I walk into my first class. Well looks like that conversation is over.

After a very stressful and tiring day at unit, I busted into my room and fell down on the bed. Apparently I fell asleep because two hours later I woke up with a text from Jessica.

”You better be getting ready because if I come into our room and you are asleep or something it will not be pretty!! :) :) :)" Shit the dinner! I hop in the shower to wash my hair. After the shower, I blow dry my hair and put on a slightly newer pair of jeans and a black t-shirt with white skulls along the stitching. I do the usual make-up and put on a pair of white vans.

J-are you ready?

 Yea see you there!

I arrive at the resturaunt tired as usual and wait near the entrance for Jessica and Ryan. The streets were super busy so it was probably going to take a long time to find them. 15 minutes went by of my falling asleep while playing candy crush on my phone when I heard Jessica yelling for me. She was surrounded by several people I recognized as her and Ryan's friends.

"Hey girl why are you here by yourself?" She rang obviously in a better mood than I was. "Well I never said I was bringing somebody" I said putting on a fake smile. "Yea but you should of! It’s always fun when your with somebody." I pulled her to the side and looked at her straight in the eyes. "I thought this was so I could meet people! You said that Ryan was bringing somebody, it looks like everyone has a couple here." I hissed at her. Was she tipsy or something? She usually doesn’t act like this.

“Oh don’t worry he is just going to be a little late! He is doing something with a camera or the internet or something." "I mean that’s fine, I just thought this was some kind of joke or something," I claimed instantly feeling regretful for lashing at her.

We went in and sat at a large table and instantly everybody started talking. It was Jessica, Ryan, and I in the corner and a clearly empty seat in front of me. DO they really think I’m that desperate? We ordered our drinks and continued chatting till a tall boy came and was looking for a seat. He had dark brown hair and Chocolate brown eyes. He looked at the only empty seat at the table (which was the one in front of me) in disgust. Uh ok looks like this is going to go bad.

Everyone talked while they were eating their dinner besides me and the boy across from me. I just couldn't bother to talk when I didn't want to be here. What is the point? He obviously doesn't want to be here anymore than I do so why should I try. Just as I was thinking about leaving I looked up to see the boy staring at me. "What?" his eyes darted down to his chicken and I couldn't help but feel miserable. This thing was a wreck why did I agree to this.

I stood up excusing myself then proceeded to storm out of the restaurant. I was so mad at myself. Why do I have to be so awkward? Why can’t I have the same confide- "hey am sorry I was such a dick back there?" I heard as I was grabbed by the arm and spun around. It was the same confusing boy who sat across the table from me.

"No it's fine; I’m too antisocial to function at events like this." I looked him over trying to get a full view of what I was looking at. God I was so short. I went to his chin. The struggles of being 5' 3". "Well anyhow is there anyway I could make this up to you? Ryan is chewing my ass right now for being such a dick." oh so this was what this was about, he was just being nice because he was supposed to be.

"You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to; it’s not your fault I wouldn’t want to date me either.” There was a pause in the conversation that lasted quite a while so I cleared my throat to get over that awkward moment. “Well I’m going to go because I have a ton of uni homework.  So nice meeting you, umm sorry I never caught your name?”

“Oh sorry, I’m Dan.”

“Well goodbye Dan. It was nice to meet you.” Wow what a date-like-thing. I really need to do something for myself, a hot bath and a Panic! At the disco marathon sounds amazing.
