--

Standing still in the middle of the sleepless town,

Am I unable to suppress this impulse of mine?

--

Hachimenroppi Izaya (Roppi)  was a complete opposite of his origin, Orihara Izaya.

He hated humans;

Despised them

Although, there was one person he couldn’t stand more.

AYAME

She was the one he couldn’t stand.

Nearly every single thing she does is something that makes his hate grow deeper—

Her sweet smile that would start off his own day,

Her tears that would come from his coldness,

Her warm hand that held his unexpectedly,

EVERYTHING—

But then he didn’t know why he never did anything to fix that.

--

Just for a little while, please be the testing subject

for the frenzy of this drawn sword hidden in my long sleeve.

--

Now was the time.

Now was the time to deal with the problem; to erase Ayame from existence.

Yes; to kill her.

She still had that smile on her like always.

But then he, soon, got annoyed of seeing it.

Why would she still smile in front of the person who has hurt her countless times?

--

Just stay? It's 3 o'clock in the morning.

--

But then, as soon as he found the opportunity to lock her in the room and pin her completely to the wall, he took his knife and got that chance to do what he was supposed to do ever since he first met her.

--

As I ventilate my crimson-stained desires

--

His knife pointing to her neck

--

and pull the trigger in my hand,

--

Her tears, flowing rapidly

--

my fingers also become dyed in brilliant red.

--

Blood spilled from her stabbed chest.

Her heart stopped beating in the blink of an eye.

Her breath was gone.

--

I have an insatiable thirst for destruction.

--

The smell of blood lingered in the air.

His hands trembled.

He lost it.

Why his broken legs were standing here—he couldn’t even remember. The blood, the knife in his hand—what were they for?

His hand intertwined with another’s; it’s touch turning cold like a corpse.

“[Name]”

That name.

He remembered so well

His vision was blurring

The world around him faded black

--

The brittle, fragile, frail humans are, after all,

--

He woke up; his body painful.

His clothes and face; still stained with blood

His hand; still intertwined with hers

“Ayame”

--

nothing more than discarded puppets.

--

Why is it that only now that his tears start flowing out?

Why is it that only now that he regretted what he did?

He hated humans.

He even hated himself for being one.

For developing these “feelings”

For taking away her life in vain

--

"For what purpose was I created?"

--

Few weeks later, he never attended her funeral. Figured it’d be too painful seeing that face.

That face that would make him remember it all.

He looked up at the gray sky.

It started raining.

It was just like how he felt;

His light has disappeared.

He continued to walk under the rain; never even bothering notice the rain going harder.

He looked up again;

He finally decided to forget..

Yes, forget everything about her.

Everything he did with her.

But then,

It was more painful to forget than losing

--

“Please, tell me the answer…”
