"I guess it's good to be home," mom said as she sat her bag on the kitchen floor and started rummaging through the fridge.
"Yeah....away from that." I giggled and grabbed a coke.
With it I took my bags upstairs and started unpacking,
"Honey, I'm leaving! I'll be gone for a couple days so do your best to unpack for me now."
"Okay," I replied. My mom has always been super busy and because she took a couple days off to come to the shoot with me she had to get back to scheduled times of work.
Not even 10 minutes after leaving I opened the door to a happy looking Jacob. I tried shutting the door
but he stopped it with his foot.
"Hey babe," he bit his lip.
"Ummmmm no!" I slammed the door.
Of course his foot was still there.
"Ouch!" I swung the door back open and pulled him in.
I know.
Why would I do that?
Because . He was hurt. And it was my fault.
I helped him limp over to the couch and lay him down.
I looked at his foot. All red and swollen.
"I am so sorry," I whispered.
"No, I'm a jerk and I came here to say that I was sorry. I should have gotten to the point instead of....what I did. I'm sorry."
I looked at his face. Seemed genuine enough.
I sat my butt on the edge of the couch by his head.I sighed.
"Wh-" I looked over at Jacob, who was sleeping. I smiled and combed my fingers through his hair.*
