"What was that?" I asked Spencer.

"It sounded like a machine starting." Spencer replied.

"What machine?" Hanna questioned.

"That one!" Emily pointed to the room Aria was in. The wall was moving in closer and closer to her. She was in a trash compaction machine!

Aria's pov

If you want me to be honest, I'm scared. I don't think I've ever been more scared in my life. The wall was getting closer and I couldn't do anything about it.

Everyone was running everywhere to turn it of. All but Ezra. He was looking at me through the glass, crying.

'I love you.' He mouthed.

'I love you too.'

If these were my last moments on earth, all I want him to know is just that; I love him.

Spencer, Emily, and Hanna all are looking for a switch yelling at each other pressing every button and pulling every lever they can find.

Ezra is trying to get the door open but he doesn't stand a chance against it if trash gets compacted against it.

I try pushing on it as he pulls it, but there's no use. I think I'm gonna die.

Emily's pov

We have tried every button, every lever we can find and nothing is working. I look over at Hanna and she is pressing every button on a table. I see that she skims over a small lever.

"Hanna try that one." I say pointing. Everyone looks over in hopes that we found the one that saves Arias life.

She pulls it down as hard as she could. It looked jammed.

We heard a loud whrrr coming from the room Aria was stuck in and smiled in relief. She was safe. The machine has been turned off.

"NO!" Ezra yelled running over to the lever Hanna  pulled. That lever never stopped it. Worse. It made the machine go faster and closer towards Aria.

Ezra grabbed the lever and yanked it forward to its original position. It began going the normal/original pace with it being at least five feet away from Aria being smushed alive.

"Wait. The lever can go further." Ezra said looking at it.

"Don't touch it! It might make it go even faster." Spencer warned.

"We don't have anything else Spencer! The love of my life is about sixty seconds from dying and no other buttons or levers are working. I pulling the damn thing higher." Ezra told. Well now we know how he feels.

He takes a deep breath and shoves the lever forward. We all jerk our heads towards the window in the door.

It stopped. For real this time.

"Now how do we get the door open?" I ask no one in particular.

"I-I don't know. We can't just find a button and press it. Look how close the wall is to her. What if another button turns it back on? What if that button goes faster? We can't risk that." Ezra explained.

"Just try and read. Maybe there is like instructions somewhere." I suggested.

We all go our separate ways and look for words above buttons and levers even doors but most of them are useless.

Every minuet Ezra looks inside the room Aria is in and talks to her to help her calm down. He said it's because stress isn't good for the baby but I think he does it for his own good. His future is seconds away from dying. I don't blame him.

"AHHAHH!" Hanna squealed. We all sprint over to her to make sure nothing is wrong besides the obvious.

She was so happy and exited she couldn't speak. She just kept jumping and pointing at words above a big red button that was hiding behind a wall.

It read:
For emergencies only, trash compaction door will unlock with this button.

We all looked at each other with joy that are friend was going to be safe. Hanna proudly slaps the button and we all run to the door. It slowly slides open. A little too slow.

The door eventually slowly stops. The problem is, it never opened all the way. Ezra pushed all his weight on it, trying to push it open further. It wouldn't budge.

"Aria? Can you try and make it through?" I ask. I just want her out and safe. That's what all of us want.

She nods and stands. She a approached the door and tried to squeeze through.

If she went through on her side she could fit, but her stomach was too big. If she went forwards, her whole frame was too big. To be fair non of us could going forwards.

"Let's all try pushing it open together." Spencer commanded as we all scrunched together to bring our weight together and push the door open.

In this moment, no one could slack. Everyone's effort counted.

The door barley moved. It did though. But we're not stopping now. Everyone pushed on the door once again.

It was slowly moving when all of the sudden it jerked open causing all of us to fall forwards. We all stayed on the ground in exhaustion exempt from Ezra.

Ezra's pov

I feel a quick slide against my fingers and the next thing I know is the door is open and the girls are scrambled on top of each other out of breath.

I have to admit, I am tired. But that won't ever stop me from saving Aria.

I quickly jump to me feet and go in through the open doors see Aria still with fear in her eyes.

I engulf her in my arms as she shakes.

"You'll be alright. I got you. I'm here now. Just breath." Are just some of the things I said to her before the girls come over to make sure she was okay.

Aria walked over to the girls and was sucked into a group hug.

"Come on guys. We should get home and out of here." I said as we walked out of the building and into out separate cars.

"I don't ever want to be that close to losing you ever again. Do you hear me?" I say to Aria in the passenger seat.

She nods her head in response and rests he head and my shoulder like she usually does as I begin driving.

Aria slowly started to drift to sleep but before she could, she was interrupted by a text:

Sorry about that. You guys looked smushed so I thought if one of you disappeared, it would be easier to travel in a group. -A
