lemonade stand

[00]

The two children smile – one boy, one girl – as the girl pours the kind stranger their very own cup of fresh lemonade, and the boy receives their very first payment of money.

The stranger thanks the seven-year-olds, receiving an excited response from the two kids in unison.

Their lemonade stand has been up and running for all of ten minutes, and they were more than happy when a car pulled up to the curb, asking them for one cup of fresh lemonade.

It’s a scorching hot day in the heart of Sydney, Australia, the air conditioning in homes cranked up on full blast. It’s a perfect day for a lemonade stand, and the children’s parents knew it would be a perfect activity to occupy their time.

“Get your own cup of cold lemonade!” The little boy shouts into the hot summer air. The girl giggles at this, finding him quite funny.

“We should do this every day for the rest of our lives!” The girl squeals, throwing her hands up in the air in excitement.

“We’d be rich!” The little boy screamed in joy.

And that day, the two made a promise to each other, to sell lemonade at their lemonade stand every day.

But as the two grew up, they grew apart, their promise was broken, and lemonade stand forgotten completely. The little boy joined a band, and began travelling the world. The little girl was just trying to get through high school, applying to schools, and get her life back together.

And some would say that’s the end of their story, right? Maybe so. But maybe their story was meant to have a sequel.
