Today was the day that I get to see Carly. For a long time we've been separated, due to my dads job. He's a doctor, so he has to move around, but this summer we're coming back. I can't wait to see her, my best friend, the person I trust everything with, for 11 years now.
Carly had been telling me about Cameron, her boyfriend she got over the winter while I was gone. From what it sounds, he's horrible, but I can't judge a person if I hadn't even met them.
"Ready Jen?" My dad said, snapping me out of my deep thoughts.
"Like always." I said happily.
I sometimes think my mom would be proud of me, knowing I'm about to graduate high school, never touched a bottle of alcohol, and have been nothing but loving to my father. But I need to stop thinking about mom. She distracts me from my main objective, which is focusing on my remaining school work and staying out of trouble.

We got to our house around 9 pm still giving me time to talk to Carly.
Since I've been gone from my hometown high school, I've been taking the online program they provide for the kids that can't come to school for any reason.
I reached for my iPhone and dialed Carl's number.
"Hey! I'm home! I can't wait to see you tomorrow!" I practically yelled into my phone.
"Oh my gosh Jenny! I've missed you so much!"
It was quiet for a while, then I quickly asked, "hey where do you wanna hang tomorrow?"
It was quiet again then I heard muffled voices, then a clear manly voice.
"Who the hell is that Carly??" He sounded angry, I tried to stay quiet while I listened.
"It's just Jenny, she's back in town, we're making plans for tomorrow."
"Without MY permission? I told you, if you come into this relationship, you better run everything by me! And now you're disobeying my orders? What the hells gotten into you?? It's this Jenny bitch isn't it??"
"SHES NOT A BITCH!"
I heard a slapping noise then silence for a minute or two, I then whispered, "C-Carly..?"
She suddenly spoke, she was obviously crying.
"Hey hey it's okay, I was just talking to Cameron. He's in the bathroom right now. So what were you thinking we go tomorrow?"
"Well..I was just thinking maybe to the coffee shop, if that's okay. Hey are you sure you're okay babe?"
I heard his voice again, but I couldn't make out what he was saying.
She started speaking fast, "yea yea I'm fine, hey that sounds perfect, I'll talk to you lat-.." Her voice trailed off and the phone hung up.
That night I worried, Somewhere in me I knew he was bad for her, I just didn't want to believe in. But now I know.
