"You have had five teachers in this subject so far, I believe", said Snape on our first class of Defence of the Dark Arts. "Naturally, these teachers will all have had their own methods and priorities."

In my opinion, Professor Lupin was the best of all teachers. I actually really liked him. The others were just ordinary boring.

"The Dark Arts", said Snape, "are many, varied, ever-changing, and eternal. Fighting them is like fighting a many-headed monster, which, each time a neck is severed, sprouts a head even fiercer and cleveree than before. You are fighting that which is unfixed, mutating, indestructible."

Draco was sitting next to me. He looked suspiciously.

"What is wrong?", I asked him.

"Do you think he would last longer than the others?", he said.

I chuckled accidentally.

"Miss Astrid", Snape said glaring at me. "What is that funny?"

"Oh, nothing, Proffesor. I'm sorry", I said. He left me alone. Wow.

"You should be quite, Miss Astrid", Draco whispered very close to my ear.

"I will try, mister Malfoy", I said.

"Yes, sir", Proffesor Snape said looking angrily at Harry Potter.

"There's no need to call me 'sir', Proffesor", said Potter.

Snape looked like he could kill him right now. "Detention", he said.

"How can someone be that stupid?", I asked.

"You don't know Potter", Draco said.

"That boy need to calm down."

After the class, we had a free period.

"Draco", Pancy called him as we walked out of the classroom.

"Not now", he snapped. I did a victory dance inside my head.

"Where we're going?", I asked literally running to catch up with him.

"I don't know. We can return, if you want to sit with Crab and Goyle", he said grinning.

"What? Okay..."

We were way to far from the school and I was tired of running. "Stop, Draco. I can't breathe", I said gasping for air.

"I'm sorry."

"Well, Crab and Goyle not, but Blaise can be good company", I said. I sat on the ground and he did it too.

"Oh really? You like him?"

"What?", I asked confused. "No! Of course not. I just think he is the best of them. After you, of course."

He looked at me. His gray eyes were full of fear. It just seems to me that he's scared and I don't know why. I'm far to ashamed to ask.

"They're the only ones that can handle me", he said lowering his voice.

"You are not that hard to hadle, Draco."

"I can be."

"Than why you want to run away from them?"

"Just because they're my friends, doesn't mean that I have to be with them all the time."

"So you just use them when you need them? Like toys?", I asked.

"No", he said glaring at me.

"Do you do that to all your friends? You will do that to me?" I was scared, okay? I don't want to be someone's toy. I want to mean something to somebody for once in my life.

"Astrid, stop", he said. "I won't do that to you. You are different. You are special to me."

"I don't believe you", I said looking him straight in the eyes.

"You will believe me."

"When?"

He moved closer to me. I could smell his perfume. And oh my god, it smells beautiful.

"Look, Harry", I hear a voice. Draco stood up. It was this guy, redheaded Weasley, miss-know-it-all and Harry Potter.

"I knew that she's your girlfriend", said Potter. I stood up too just to have a good view.

"Well at least my girlfriend isn't mudblood", Draco snapped. Did he just called me his girlfriend?

Potter took a step forward. "Harry, no", said a girl behind him. "Don't do it. He's not worth it."

"You suck, Malfoy", said Potter. He turned around and make a few steps when Draco said: "So does your mom, but you don't see me complaining, do you?"
