Hannah's P.O.V

"Mom! I'm gonna go for a walk in the woods, ok!?" I yelled.
I ran out into the woods and stopped to look around, making sure nobody is looking. I shifted into a Hyaenodon and ran through the woods. I heard some noises as I ran through the woods. Nobody knows I'm a Hyaenodon. Nobody but me and my pack. I have a pack I belong to, and I go to them every single day.
I made it to my group who stood around in their animal form. There were rocks big and small with an open space and pine trees circling us. A sabortooth tiger stood on a huge rock. His name is Sabor (animal name), and he's the leader. He doesn't share his human name to anybody, and he doesn't want us to share our human names to anybody too because it's forbidden. I sat down by a bear dog and glanced at it. I smiled at it, but it just stared at me for a second and then moved away from me.
Sabor roared. "TIME FOR A MEETING!!!"
We all pricked our ears and looked at him, listening.
"Now you all know how important it is to keep your secret about shape shifting to yourselves!!! If any human finds out if you can shape shift, you'll get killed!! If you're still alive, and I find out that a human knows you're an animal, I'll punish you!!"
I trembled a little bit from this warning.
Sabor looked at me and yelled, "Jabari!!! You got it!? Because you almost gave out your identity about you being an animal!"
Jabari is my animal name. "Yes sir!" I replied back, and I whimpered softly due to the fact that Sabor can be mean and scary.
The bear dog named Rover glared at me a little.
I heard a pig like roar from the woods and we all glanced at that direction. An Entelodont walked out of the woods and up to Sabor's rock.
"One of your troops ate my meat!!!" The Entelodont growled.
I gasped and dipped my head. I scavenge for meat most of the time because I get too lazy to hunt. I always sneak on the Entelodont's property and steal his meat. After all, Entelodonts are enemies to Hyaenodons.
"Who ate the porker's meat!!!" Sabor boomed, and I kept my head down.
Sabor noticed me. "Jabari!! Get up here!!!"
"Busted again." I mumbled and walked up to the rock with my head down in shame.
I glanced up at the Entelodont who doesn't look pleased, and then I glanced up at Sabor who also looks angry.
"Stop eating the pig's food, and start hunting!! Do you want me to lock you up in a cave for a day or two?! With no food or water!?"
The Entelodont smirked, and I noticed it and growled.
"Jabari!!! Are you listening!?" Sabor roared.
I shook my head. "Sorry. It's just that, that pig is a bully. He's been stealing my food when I hunted a while ago."
"So you decided it'll be a good idea to steal his after he stole food from you a long time ago?! You haven't been hunting for months, and you held a grudge about piggy stealing your stuff!!"
"Uhmm.. Sir?" The Entelodont started. "Those names that your calling me is getting annoying, so can you please stop?"
Sabor glanced at the Entelodont. "I'm sorry. I didn't catch your name. What is your name?"
"Wilbur." The Entelodont responded.
I busted out laughing because it was from a movie called Charlotte's Web that I used to watch when I was little, and the pig from that movie was named Wilbur.
The Entelodont glared at me, and I stopped laughing.
"What's so funny!?" Sabor yelled at me.
"Nothing, sir. Sorry."
"You better be sorry you laughing Hyena!!" Wilbur yelled at me.
"I'm a Hyaenodon!!! Not a hyena!! They're not related to each other!!" I yelled at Wilbur.
"Both of you cut it out!!" Sabor yelled and then turned to everybody else. "The meeting is over!! Everybody go home!!!"
Everybody left, and I started to leave until, "Not you!!"
I turned to Sabor and Wilbur.
"You will need to hunt an animal with Wilbur since you ate his meat! He will pick out an animal and you will hunt it down!! Got it!? That will make up the meat you ate!!"
"But sir-"
"Now!!" Sabor interrupted me.
I sighed and walked with Wilbur. Wilbur and I walked through the woods together in silence. I don't want to talk to him, and he doesn't want to talk to me. I heard a twig snap, and Wilbur and I turned at that direction. It was a deer, grazing. A deer who doesn't shift. Perfect.
"I want that deer." Wilbur whispered.
"Ok." I mumbled and crouched down.
Wilbur watched from a little distance away from me and the deer. I slowly walked up to the deer, but I accidentally stepped on a twig, and it snapped. The deer picked it's head up with its ears forward. I stood still until the deer put its head back down to eat. I got a little closer, and when I was close enough, I pounced on the deer and slashed at it. The deer started to run away, and I pounced on its back and clamped my jaws around the neck. Blood started dripping.
The deer tried to buck me off, but it couldn't. I bit harder until the deer tumbled down lifeless. Wilbur walked up to me and the dead deer.
"Thanks." He said with delight and took the deer like it was a winning prize that he won. Wilbur may seem like he's nice to me, but he's not really. He was acting nice to me because he got what he wanted. He wanted me in trouble and hunt for him like I was his slave.
As Wilbur dragged the deer away, he grinned an evil grin.
