Letter Fourteen

Dear Love,

Again the world doesn't understand

you or I

or anyone else.

We stand and stare 

at the news

like it's all true 

and it didn't happen a week ago.

The news is giving us what they want

not what we need.

All we see are the police 

who shoot a minority with probable cause

who people think was unfair

because it's too hard to believe 

that someone can be different and do these things.

They only show what makes minorities mad

and not the things that are more tragic.

Police die

People die

and yet people don't understand.

I know these letters to you 

my love

are supposed to be about love

and me proclaiming it to you

but if we are to fight

this world together

than I need to speak my thoughts

on other things.

Love is not the only thing in this world

my love,

there is also hate

there is also greed

there is also stupidity

there are

so many things

my love

that are going on

and yet our love prevails.

I never want that to end

but to keep it going

I must speak my mind

on matters of the world

and I shall do so.

First off,

my love,

Being in the LGBT category

IS NOT WRONG.

I do not care what you think

but it is there decision

and not yours.

Why do you even care

it's not like you're the one making the decision

to be different than the rest.

Leave it alone

you people who don't agree.

I know for some 

it's because of a religion

and for others 

it's because they are simple minded

I don't care which is for you

but I hope you can get over it.

Second off,

my love,

Being a different race

is not bad.

It isn't as though they could choose.

Stop judging them based on their color

and start doing it for the intelligence of their mind

and their spoken words.

There is no one significant race

and there is no one insignificant race.

We are all the same

and we always will be.

Third,

my love,

Women and Men

do not hate each other.

Women are not always prizes

to be won or bought

they are people too.

I don't care what your religion says

but men are not all that better than women.

Men do not have the right

to take whom they want

when they want.

Not all men do this,

I understand that.

The ones that don't are the true men

and the ones that do

don't have the right to call themselves that.

Men and Women 

can still live in harmony

and not hate each other.

Lastly,

my love,

People are not what they seem

I look like a normal girl

with a normal life

but I am broken and I am lonesome.

You look like a handsome young man

yet you choose to ignore it

because looks are not everything

you believe in the mind

and people think you believe in beauty.

People always have a hidden story

and many will never know it

but always realize that when you speak

you don't know what the person

had gone through

in their life

Never just assume.
