I feel your pain (Remington fanfic)

Chapter 7

I hum along to the music that is playing in the background as I serve up dinner, I have cooked a potato curry and have put a side of leaves on Sebastian's plate seeing as he doesn't eat meat. I place our meal on the table and call out to the boys that dinner is ready. The boys sit down and thank me for cooking, we then start eating with a comfortable silence surrounding us. When we finish eating Remington takes our plates and puts them on the kitchen sink and starts to wash up. Sebastian and Emerson go and sit down in front of the tv and start watching some weird move that was on tv, I felt bad that Remington had to wash up all by himself so I walked into the kitchen grabbing a tea towel and started drying the dishes.
"What are you doing?" Remington says in a somewhat harsh voice.
"Helping" I simply reply not being affected by him. We continue washing up, the both of us stay silent, I don't dare talk because I am scared I will piss Rem off. I really don't know what happened, one minute he was hugging me and carrying me everywhere now all he dose is give me the cold shoulder. I try not to think anything of it but sometimes his actions do hurt. We just finish as Emerson looks round the corner and tells us that he needs us both in the lounge room for something important. I trail behind Remington and take a seat on the couch next to Sebastian, Rem takes the lounge chair and Emerson sits on the ground in front of us even though there was loads of room on the couch.
"Ok so Lily we have a little surprise for you, I know that you said no gifts but we couldn't help ourselves" Emerson says reaching under the couch and pulling out a little box.
"Here happy birthday Lily" he says handing me the box with a smile on his face. I unwrap the box to find that they had gotten me a new phone, I was speechless, my mouth was wide open and I started to tear up.
"Thank you guys so much, this means the world to me" I say as the boys smiled and to my surprise Remington even smiled.
"That is why Seb took you half way across town so that I could race and and get it for you" Emerson says.
"Thank you so much again guys, you have been so nice and selfless and I don't know how to thank you" I say as tears start to roll down my face.
"Well at least give us a hug" Sebastian says cheekily. I hugged all the boys even Remington,  I sat down again and started to set up my new phone, it was an iPhone 6 and I still couldn't believe that they had gotten it for me.

After I had set up my phone we all went back to watching tv then something strange happened. Remington got up of his chair and walked over to me, he grabbed my hand and pulled me up of the couch.
"Can I speak to you in private please" he asks
"Sure?" I say hesitantly looking over at the other boys who where also confused. Remington led me to his room opening the door and shutting it behind me.
"You can sit down if you want" he says, he looks quite nervous, he opens up a box that is sitting on his desk. He comes over with a littler box in his hand and sits down next to me on the bed, he starts fiddling with the box not saying anything. I was about to say something but then Remington spoke.
"I'm sorry" he simply says
"I'm sorry that I have been so cold towards you, all you have done is be nice to me and all I have done is been a complete dick. I shouldn't have let my brothers get to me the way they did and I feel stupid for that so I got you something to say sorry and I didn't know when to give it to you and I have been stressing the whole day about it so here" he says handing me the box. I open it to reveal a beautiful necklace with a locket attached to it, I then open the locket to see the words 'Keep living loud and proud, They never can hold you down' engraved into it.
"It's Beartooth lyrics, I heard you playing the song on guitar the other day. And I still don't know how you got those bruises but i assume that you didn't do it to yourself so I hope that this can always remind you that you matter" he says looking up at me with soft eyes making eye contact for the first time in 2 days.
"I can't describe how much this means to me Remington, thank you it's beautiful" I say as I start to cry again. I hug him which takes him off guard.
"I ran away from my father" I say making Remington look at me confused.
"What?" He replied tilting his head to the side.
"I ran away from my father because he beat me, I couldn't take it anymore and that's how I ended up in LA. The day you found me was the day I ran away and I had no plan and you and your brothers came to my rescue" I say with the tears streaming down my face.
"It started when my brother died, he was killed when he was looking after me one night when my parents where out. Someone broke into our house and as he was trying to call the police the guy shot him, I was only 11 at the time and my father blamed me for everything. My brother was the favourite child and my dad couldn't take the fact that he was gone so he started drinking and took his anger out on me" I say still crying, Remington then picked me up placing me on his lap and hugged me, he started rubbing my back and started singing to me trying to calm me down. After I had calmed down we stayed in the same position for a few minutes till Remingtons hand came up and cupped my face gently. He guided my face so that I was looking at him.
"The other reason I was so mean to you was because I like you, I feel for you Lily. I had all these feeling locked up inside of me and I didn't know what to do so I took my frustration out on you" Remington says almost in a whisper. He started pulling my face closer to his and I did nothing to stop him, I closed my eyes as our lips touch. His hand moves down to my neck as the other one moves to my waist. I then take my arms and drape then around his neck bringing him closer, after a few seconds we break apart. Remington smiles up at me and I smile back.
"I like you too" I say grinning from ear to ear.
"That's good because if you didn't that would have been a little awkward" Rem says half chuckling as he wraps his arms around my lower torsos. I then get up of Remingtons lap picking up the necklace he gave me and walking over to the mirror and try to put it on. Remington sees that I am struggling so comes and takes the necklace from me and swiftly places it around my neck and clapping up the back.
"We should probably go back out now, Emerson and Seb might be getting worried" I say as I turn around walking to the door.
"Wait, what are we?" Remington asks confused while walking over to me.
"I'm not to sure, how bout you decided" I say in a somewhat teasing voice.
"So can I call you my girlfriend?" Remington asks smirking, oh god he was sexy when he did that I think to myself.
"Of course you can" I say taking his hand smiling at him.
"And one last thing, can we please not tell my brothers about us just yet?, I'm still getting used to us and I don't what them ruining it" Remington asks a little worried
"That's fine with me" I say as I stand on my tip toes reaching up and kissing Remington once more before I open the door and walk out into the lounge room with Rem close behind, we sit down and pretend like nothing happened.
