I combed through my thick lashes with mascara one more time before checking in the mirror to make sure I looked fine.

I had never worried so much about my appearance for a boy, but Antoine wasn't just another boy. To me he was my best friend, my only friend. To him I was probably just another girl.

I shook the thought off and brushed any imaginary dust off of the jersey he sent for me to wear. It was his number of course, and I couldn't help but smile when the mailman showed up.

I ran my fingers over the soft material and sighed. I was nervous, because of him and I had no clue why. Maybe it was because my father was never really a father, and I had daddy issues.

Whatever the problem was, I was attached to him already. I jumped as my phone dinged, and I rolled my eyes realizing it was Antoine texting me.

Who else would it be?

I read the text and typed a quick reply.

from anto: I'll be there in five min nic

to anto: okay

I should be getting a call from my siblings today, it's been two weeks and I'm starting to get more anxious as the days pass.

As I walked down the busy cobble stone road, making small talk with Antoine he led me into a cute cafe, that seemed to be only in movies. I took in a deep breath as the door chimed above my head. The scent and buzzing of small talk and laughter amongst the cafe takes me back to a time when things were easier, when I was happier.

Sitting at the counter, I watched my mother's back while she opened the oven door and pulled out the tray of cookies.

Turning around she gave me a toothy smile, "Smells delicious. Who doesn't love cookies for dinner?" I laughed along with her mother and grabbed a cookie off the tray, taking a bite.

I sighed as I stepped forward to get in line so that we could order. Antoine's face was shielded by a hoodie and sunglasses, but he stood close to me, our shoulders touching.

"I'm not that hungry, so I'll just get a latte and a cupcake," I whispered to him. He chuckled, knowing I would've got the cupcake because of my obsession. I rolled my eyes and he threw his arm over my shoulders

"Shut up Griz."

He laughed this time, and I could feel the vibrations of the action from his chest. I giggled lightly myself, and stepped up to the register when it was my turn.

After ordering, we found a little secluded spot near the back that was under a window. We slid into the seats and I sighed happily, putting my chin under my head.

I blinked at Anto, "Are you nervous?"

He shrugged, "Somewhat. Only because you'll be watching."

I felt my chest warm up, and the urge to hide my face in my hands. I giggled instead and pushed a curl out of my face.

My phone buzzed on the table beside us, and my heart leaped at the number. I scrambled to answer it.

"Nicky!"

"Hi baby! I miss you, how are you? Are you being treated well? Where's Andrea?" I rushed out frantically.

"I'm fine, so is Andrea. We're okay, we went to the park today but we miss you a lot," my brother said to me. I smiled sadly and let my head fall into my free hand.

"I love you Izzy, you know that right?"

"Yeah, I know sis."

"Let me talk to her Isaac!" Andrea whined from the other end and I chuckled, a genuine smile fighting its way to my parted lips. My little sisters voice flowed through the receiver smoothly making me grin happily as I drew circles on the table.

"Hi Andy, how are you love?"

"I'm fine sissy, when are you coming to get us?"

"As soon as I can baby, I'm working on it I promise you," I told her and then bit my lip. I would never feel like they were completely safe until they were with me.

"Promise?"

"I promise querida. Stay strong for me and stick together, yeah?" I replied.

"Yes ma'am. We have to go. We love you sissy."

"I love you guys so much more. Stay safe," I told her, just barely getting the words out before the connection was cut. It was like each phone call got shorter. It made me think that they were trying to hide something.

Maybe they are.

"Who was that?" Anto asked making me jump. I pushed the curl out of my face just for it to fall back. Anto reached across the table with lightening speed and put it behind my ear for me.

I stared at him for a moment before I cleared my throat, "My siblings."

"Oh, where are they?"

"It's a long story," I breathed. He nodded his head and I gave him a thankful smile, knowing he let it go for my comfort.

"So who do you play?"

"Real Madrid," he answered and I smirked.

"I'm not introducing you to Ramos no," he said immediately making a groan leave my lips. I pouted causing him to roll his eyes and repeat the same word, "No."

"Please Antoine! I'll make you food for a full week," I bargained, which turned his attention from the window beside him. He raised an eyebrow, questioning if I was serious.

I nodded eagerly. Not only was Sergio Ramos a hot piece of ass, he was my little brothers favorite defender. It was the least I could do after letting the police take him and my sister.

"Fine, I'll see what I can do."

I cheered in my seat and giggled with Antoine at my antics. He was someone incredibly special, and I knew it. It doesn't matter how long I know him, he's already made his impact. He makes me feel carefree, something I can't remember if I've ever felt.

I wouldn't dare lose him.
