Defied

chapter 2

I'm on the way to the airport with all the goodbyes said and boxes packed I'm finally ready. I board the plane and listen to the safety instructions as any good patron does. The plane takes off down the runway and I put in my ear buds. After several hours and one stop the plane lands and I'm in Seattle. Dorothy your definitely not in Kansas anymore. This place is so different to my Birmingham. I've finally made it to where I wanted to be. I pull out my phone and let everyone know I've made it safely and then look up the address to my new apartment.
I pull up outside a very sleek and stylish building. I hand the driver the cash for the ride and make my way into the modern yet elegant lobby that will be apart of my new home. It's all glass and marble with crystal chandeliers. I make my way to the lobby desk and ask the older woman who must be mid sixties with blonde hair laced with silver and wearing black bifocals where I could find my room. I travel up the elevator to the eighteenth floor and walk down the hallway until I find room 1006.
I turn the key and push the door open into my new home. It's beautiful. It has a grand foyer with a curved stairway to the second floor. Through the foyer is a huge living room and dining room combo with an amazing kitchen off the back. The kitchen has a beautiful white marble and light gray cabinets and a fridge big enough to hide dumbo and the rest of the Disney characters in.
I put my bags down and make my way upstairs. There are three bedrooms and an office. I walk into the master bedroom. It's a good size and the closet is big enough to house a whole family of clowns and their car. I can't wait to start my new life here!
I walk down stairs and snap a few photos to send to Matt and Mom. I walk through to the living room and on to my own private terrace. I don't don't know why I didn't move sooner!
