~James' POV~
Bang.
A toe-curling scream. That's all. The end.
The end of our love. The end of everything I've been trying to hide from her. Now, I will never get to tell her why I did what I did. I will never get the chance to ask her to marry me.
She's gone. Just gone. Forever.
The distant sounds of the ambulance and the murmurs coming from neighbours were at the back of my mind. Her life was complicated, tragic, yet she kept smiling. After her family died, she and her sister stayed with their grandmother.
She never frowned or cried until the day I told her I got her sister pregnant. I broke her heart. Her sister threw herself at me. I was drunk. So was she. I didn't realize what I did until the 3rd month, when the bump started to show. I knew, I was busted. Big time.
I watched as the paramedics lifted her bloody body off the concrete and place it gently on the gurney, covering her entire body in a white sheet which had a crimson red stain on it moments after as her blood seeped through the thin fabric. I loved her. And now, she's gone without the knowledge of my everlasting love for her. I never got to tell her those three words and now, I never will.
"Honey?" my wife touched my shoulder and I flinched. I don't want her touching me, not now. She didn't follow me when I walked in the direction of the graveyard, where my love would be soon enough, in the ground.
