Chapter 2 Morning of
"Uuuuhhhggg! No! Please just a little longer!" I cry out in a whisper as I reach over to my night stand to turn off the alarm on my phone. 'Hmm... I could've sworn I lef- NO! I plugged it in to charge at the other side of the room! Why!? Lazy, you know why. if you plugged it in where you could reach it then you would never get up.' "okay okay, I'm coming." I tell the alarm.
Today is my first day slash first year attending high school and I'm of course nervous. I'm new to the town so I don't know anybody, but that's nothing new. My father has a job that ables me to move around, so new places don't really intimidate me much any more. Also, since I move around a little, I'm used to not making friends...... Well that and because since I'm different people don't really want anything good to do with me. I say good only because when people actually pay any mind to me, its to do something that they think bothers me, but i've learned to ignore it.
I check my self once more in the long mirror that's also the door to my sliding door closet. I was wearing blue jeans with a dark gray shirt that had a floral patterned lace in the back. I had white finger-less gloves on and gray flats that had white in the front and back. I move closer to the mirror to examen my dark brown curly hair that reaches the bottom of my back blade, my bangs across my forehead . My sight wandered down to my eyes. "My lens!" I announced, scurrying to my desk.
Along with my non-matching marks, I also have, not only non-matching but also incredably weird eyes. My left one is dark brown with a quarter of, what looks like bright sky blue and my right one is the same blue with a quarter of dark brown. Another feature I was bullied for, so in seventh grade I decided to get dark brown contacts.
Scrambling around my desk looking for my lens, I hear someone come in.
"what are you looking for?" I hear my mom ask from the doorway.
"My lens! I can't find them!" I tell her.
"You ran out a day before yesterday, remember? You said that you would go buy some more later that day."
'oh no....oh no-oh no-oh no!!!! WAIT! this isn't grade school nor middle school anymore. I won't get picked on because of my eyes. Actually people will love my eyes!' I mentally try to encourage myself, even though I know it's not true.
'Okay katherin, its fine. Just don't look people in the face. Seriously?! how old are you twelve!? Stop acting so sensitive and whiny!-' "Do you want me to go on the drive with you to school?" My mom asked as she leaned her shoulder beside the front door, giving me a soft smile. "No it's only a short drive" I reply while gather the things I need. "You sure? It's a good fifteen to thirty minute drive? I think it's even an hour!" she presses. "That's not long." I state, opening the front door. " Alright love you. have the best first day." My mom squeezes me in her hug as she says this. "I'll try" I muttered, climbing in to the back of the car. "Ready." I tell the driver.
