Thief: Steal The Knight

There is a thief that strikes at midnight. They open the manhole nearest the bank. Slowly the thief crawls out checking their surroundings. Closing the manhole they pass into the bank undetected. Though that is not surprising. This thief has been stealing for 2 months having not been caught during that small stretch of time. This particular thief does not like having to steal. They are only committing this crime for a relative of theirs. You see this thief has a younger brother. This younger brother is quite ill and is currently in the hospital and has been in the hospital for 2 months. Being the small, poor family they were they couldn't afford to pay the hospital bills even with the thief working two jobs, so they stole for money. The thief slips out safely from the bank as the alarm goes off.

You: Be the Thief

You had run out of the bank with large wads of money stuffed in your pocket. Along the way you see a couple walking down the street on the sidewalk. The girl ,who seemed about your age, had an expensive purse being carried on her arm. You sped up your pace, grabbed at her purse and tried to run. Note "tried". The male beside her , presumably her boyfriend, had started to chase you once he realized what had happened. You sped up your pace, but he was faster than you to your surprise, and backed you into an alley. You got into a stance ready to fight for your life. Staring, you awaited his first move... but it never came. Instead he smiled at you. "Keep the purse, I was gonna leave her anyway." He hen turned and walked away. It took you a moment to process what had happened. A sly smirk made it's way upon your lips. "What a shame," you spoke to thin air. "He let the thief get away." You had stolen the "knights" heart pretty quickly. After all it's what you do.
