13: Cursed Death

Joey POV

We arrive at Katrina's old house. What are we doing here?

"Ok, so since Daniel abandoned us, Cindy is dead and there's a psychopath on the loose, you and me are staying at my mom's." Katrina said as she opened her door.

"What about Wolf and Storm?" I asked.

"She's got them inside." Katrina added in. I nodded and got out of Katrina's car.

"Oh Joey! I was so worried about you." Amber said with a worried tone. I hugged her and then responded.

"Well it's great to see you Amber. I notice that you have a box of videos on the table." I said motioning to the box of old video tapes on the coffee table.

"Oh yes, I've been watching them all week." Amber said as she walked over and looked through the tapes. She pulled one out and examined it.

"I never really knew what this one was, I watched it a week ago, the images on it were really strange." Amber said as she examined it some more. I looked at Katrina. She looked like she was going to be sick. I moved towards her but she rushed forward and snatched the video from her mothers hands.

"Katrina Callisto! What the hell are you doing?" Her mother screeched. Katrina just ran out the front door with the video and flung it into the street.

"Did anyone else watch this video?" She asked frantically. Amber shook her head and stared at her.

"No, why? What's wrong Katrina?" Amber asked her. Katrina's eyes went wide as she pointed behind us.

"Oh my god, this is not good." I said as I backed out of the house.

Mark POV

Dammit! I should've known he'd be armed. What am I going to do now? I have to think of something and fast.

Daniel POV

I knew that psychopath was going to follow me. I held the gun close to me and made sure it was ready to fire if it came to that. I stared at the gun in my hands, examining it.

After a while I turned the tv on to the news and the view in front of me made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

The body of 46 year old Amber Callisto was discovered by police after a 911 call by the deceased's daughter, 24 year old Katrina Callisto and her friend, 25 year old Joseph Graceffa. Her death is in fact a mystery due to not signs of murder on the body. However police and forensic investigators have stated that her face is particularly shocking to view. Police have stated that the body was discovered in the entry way of her living room, which was partially flooded. A possible piece of evidence was discovered in the street as well. It's nothing more than a mere video tape. No more information has been released at this time, but we'll keep you updated as this tragic story unfolds.

I turn the tv off.

"A sad sight is it not?" A voice asked from my doorway. My head snapped to the source and my hands fumbled with my gun.

"Well, I believe this where I say goodbye Mr. Preda." Mark spoke.
