"Yah, this better be good, Oppa. I have stood up my date because of your call" Seo Joo Hyun asked soon as she arrived at Yonghwa's reserved table for the two of them.
"Yah, why don't you sit first before you nag? Tsk" he stood and ushered her to the chair opposite him.
"What are we going to talk about?" she asked as she sat. She looked at the waitress that's standing beside their table and said "Unnie" she then looked at Yonghwa and asked "Good news or bad news?"
"We'll order later" Yonghwa told the waitress "Both" he then answered her question after the waitress left. "I need your help, chingu-yah"
They have been friends for 6 years now, and it was not new to her that he asks for her help. "Girl problems, again?" she said
"Nope. Promise me that you'd help me first, and then I'll tell you."
"Chakkaman oppa!" she exclaimed. "Tell me the problem first then, we'll see"
The waitress came back with the service water, he waited for her to go away before he said "Just promise first. I'm afraid you might not help me if I tell you what's up. I need to have your word first, so that you can't back out" he smiled sheepishly
Seohyun's forehead creased "You're not doing something against the law, right?"
"Of course not! Just promise me, it's worth $50M I'll give you 10%" he replied
Seohyun's eyes widened. 10 percent of 50M? It must be illegal.
"So?" Yonghwa gave her a questioning look.
Seohyun was in deep thought as he studied him. Yonghwa is a good person, she can vouch to that, a peace-loving citizen. He's not going to get her in trouble. She just knew it.
"Okay. And 10 percent? Call. You're not conning me right?" She answered after much thought
"Yah, when did I ever?" he answered
"Great." She drank some water before she asked "So, what's the problem?"
"Let's order first. I'm starving" he said as he called on the waitress.
She ordered the most expensive dish in that restaurant after he said he's paying.
"Tell me now" she said after the waitress left
"Remember the property we own in Busan? The one some foreigner is interested in buying?" he started
Seohyun nodded. "You said they're going to make a golf and country club and residential estates, and the surrounding properties were already sold except that land because your grandfather won't sell it."
"Yes, and he has agreed on selling the property now. And because I'm his only grandchild, the $50M will be mine" he said
"Wow! And I have 10 percent of that." she exclaimed and paused, her forehead creased "So what's the catch?"
"There's a condition" Yonghwa pouted
She nodded in understanding, that's life. "What's the condition?"
"You already know about the 3 old maid sisters of my father right?" Yonghwa carefully said "And you can't count on them to bear children to continue our bloodline."
"I know." She said "You're the only one left for your bloodline to continue to exist"
"Grandpa wanted me to marry, he'd give me the $50M and other properties only after I get married" he finally said
