"C'mon Darcy! Let's go!" Trish whispered, waking me up from the best sleep I've had in a while.
"Trish, what are you talking about? I'm trying to sleep!" I said, rolling over on my bed pulling the covers above my head.
"I told you we were going to this party. I've been talking about it all week remember?"
Oh, I remembered.
This party is all she talked about for the past week like most of the parties we go to. Trish loves to party more than anybody. Don't get me wrong, she's not too wild..but.. ya know. Suddenly I felt a hit on the butt. I rolled over face up and glared at Trish.
"What was that for?"
"You need to get up and get ready! I can't believe you fell asleep in the first place!" She said. I looked at the clock. 11. I wasn't really in the mood to party, but I didn't want to let Trish down. I got up and slowy walked to my mirror yawning all the way there.
Trish came up beside me and I compared how different we looked at that moment. Her wavy blonde hair was groomed and shiny, while my slighty wavier dark brown hair looked frizzy and wild. She was taller than me, just like everyone else. She was skinny, long legged. I was short, and slightly thicker than her.
"Darcy this party is going to be amazing! Now we have got to get you ready. Go wash your hair, and Ill pick out your outfit. We have to be ready by 11:45. Chop chop!" She said smiling. This bossy girl, was definatly my best friend. I could trust her with my life. I went to the bathroom and did as I was told.

30 minutes later, we were at the mirror again.
"We look hot! And with fifteen minutes to spare!" Trish squealed. I inspected myself.
My head was full of thick, volumonous curls and my makeup was perfect, thanks to Trish. I looked down at the dress she picked out for me. It was plain dark blue with silver sparkily heels. I was so ready to party now.
"Do you think we will meet any cute guys?" Trish asked, nudging my side
Truth be told, I wasn't looking to meet any guys. I was still trying to convince myself that not all guys are stupid pigs from the last boyfriend I had, who cheated on me with some skanky chick. I was just looking for some good, clean fun. No boys. No attraction. No love. But I wasn't going to tell Trish that.
"Yeah, maybe." I said with a weak smile.
"Well I guess we should go. Are you sure your mom is asleep?"
"Trish, she's been asleep since eight thirty. I think we're good."
And with that, two best friends snuck out of a bedroom window, ready to party.
