"So, who’s party is this again?" I asked Trish as we walked down a very fancy neighborhood.
"Rodger Parkins. His parents were stupid enough to leave him alone all weekend while they went out of town for their anniversary."
"Well, thank God for parental stupidity." I chuckled.
We walked up to a house that just had to be a mansion. It looked about three stories tall and it was pure white. It had a red brick walk way that led all the way up to a set of pearly white stairs. It looked so cozy, like a house I would want to live in. That's what I thought until we made it inside.
There was very loud hip hop music playing, and crazy teens running around holding red cups I suspected were filled with alcohol. I looked around and saw a random guy I didn't know run into the living room naked yelling something I couldn't understand. I looked to the other side of me and saw a couple making out right beside us. I was a little weirded out.
"Trish are you sure about this? This party is a little crazier than the ones we usually go to."
"Darcy, chill. Just loosen up, have a drink and you will be having fun in no time. Aren't you supposed to be the tough one?" She said, giving a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder.
Suddenly a very tall, tan, overly buff guy came up to us. Rodger Parkins.
"Whaattt can I get youuu llaaddiiezzzzzz" He slurred, looking at nothing but Trish, obviously checking her out. She was doing the same to him.
"Well, what do you have for us?" She said and they both smiled. Someone was getting lucky tonight. I knew I was going to be left alone soon anyways, so I excused myself and went to look around. I wasn't really planning on drinking, but if it came down to it, I might have a beer or two.
I looked around awkwardly, not really knowing what to do. I decided that one beer wouldn't hurt anything, so I got one. I walked to the crowded living room and sat on the filthy couch. There were crazy drunk people all around me, and I just needed some air. Maybe I could go outside for a minute.
I walked around until I found a glass door that led to a deck outside with a hot tub and chairs. It didn't look as crowded so I stepped outside, but I hardly made it out the door when suddenly the almost empty beer I was holding was all over my dress.
"Hey! Watch where you're-.....going."
Suddenly I was looking into the deep, dark blue eyes of Derek Shall. He was a head taller than me, with shaggy black hair and what couldn't be described other than the perfect body. From what I could tell anyways. He had always been sort of a loner at school. I don't think I had ever heard him speak before, but dang. He was cute.
"I ..I'm so sorry. Here, uh, follow me I'll get you cleaned up." He said, grabbing my hand and leading me through the crowd of people. He took me to the kitchen and got a towel.
"Here. Again I'm so sorry." He said looking sincere, and a little tipsy I was guessing. I was surprised he was so nice. He didn't seem that way from what I'd seen at school. I took the towel and started wiping at the beer stain.
"It's uh-.. It's fine." I said smiling. He smiled back. He had a really nice smile. My cheeks suddenly felt hot, and I knew I was blushing. Damn.
"I should probably go find my friend." I said looking away.
He smiled even more. "Alright, I see you around then, Darcy."
I walked out of the kitchen surprised he even knew my name.
I don’t know why I got so flustered just now. I mean, I even remember thinking at school that I would never come close to dating a guy like Derek. Plus, I can’t remember the last time I was ever flustered by a guy. But just then, I don’t even know what I was thinking. I just needed to stop thinking period. I went and got another drink, and soon enough, another drink turned into 5 to 10 more drinks. I lost count.
