Kageyama sighed, scarf tucked tightly around his neck as he hid his face below it, the chill of the January air stinging his nose slightly as he walked towards the school building. Hushed whispers surrounded him as he headed through the gates, pausing momentarily as a blur of orange passed him, how did people have the energy to run around this early in the morning? Honestly all Kageyama wanted to do was go home, he hadn't even made it to 8am yet.
The day went by slowly for Kageyama, as it always did, he'd refused to join the volleyball club even under the recommendation of the faculty adviser, the last thing he needed was a repeat of his junior high years. "Kageyama, are you even listening to me? I don't even know why I'm still talking to you, you're always elsewhere whenever I start talking" Yachi muttered, pulling on the tall boy's sleeve. "hm? I'm not joining the volleyball team Hitoka, why are you even here? Leave me alone"
"Huh?! But there's a first year that could work with you! His speed is incredible... At least consider it"
"I said leave me alone!" Kageyama yelled, pulling his arm away from the small blonde girl, the corridor fell silent as everyone turned to watch as Yachi backed away from him, before walking away quietly. Muttered comments about Kageyama's heartlessness filled the corridor, said boy standing in the middle of it all, staring at the same.
He was cold, oh so cold, but what's new?

The day was finally over for Kageyama as he began to leave his classroom, heading out of the gates. "Kageyama Tobio." He looked up from his shoes. "Can I help you?" he snapped, just wanting to go home. "So it is true, you have come to Karasuno, what's a king like you doing in a school like this?" the other boy questioned, standing in Kageyama's way. "A little bird told me you made our manager in training cry this morning" he added, adjusting his glasses. "The least you could do would be to turn up to one practice to apologise, or is such a thing above a king like you?" the boy smirked as kageyama's hands balled into fists at his sides. "Stop calling me that" he grumbled. "Then prove you're not who you were in junior high, or bless lowly peasant's like us with your presence for one practice"

"Tsukki, who's that guy following us? He looks like the setter from Kitagawa Daiichi"
"He is"
"Why is he following us? He's giving off the vibe that he's going to murder us"
"He's coming to apologise to Hitoka, he made her cry yesterday morning"
"Didn't she tell you to leave it?"
"Shut up Yamaguchi"
"Sorry Tsukki"***
"I- Uh- My name- My name is Kageyama Tobio, n-nice to meet you!" Kageyama practically yelled, bowing slightly with his hands balled into fists at his side. "You can raise your head now, Kageyama" A soft voice broke the silence that settled over the team. "But hurt any one of our team members again and i'll personally come and kill you myself, okay?" the grey haired boy said, a strangely calm expression on his face compared to the tone of voice he'd been using. Kageyama nodded quickly, stepping half a step back before his back collided with someone much shorter than him.
"What?! Do you wanna fight?!" The shorter boy yelled, jumping back when Kageyama turned around. "Thats enough, guys, please calm down. He looks terrified, what exactly did Tsukishima drag you here for, Kageyama? I was told by Takeda that you refused to join the team" Kageyama shrugged, looking for the small blonde girl he'd upset the previous day "He said if I turned up it would be an apology to Hitoka for upsetting her"
