The bell for last break rings and start packing up and going to our lunch spot. we haven't seen Steven all day, I had one class with him and so did Kevin but all he said to us was 'I am busy' what kind of busy? Is he planning something? Dose he not like us anymore? We tried not to seem like we where bothered by it, even though I was. I talked to Kevin about it at first lunch when he didn't show up. I said if he didn't come see us by last lunch we were going to go find him. I walk up to Kevin doing his cool guy pose up against the wall watching people go past from under the shadow of his hat. "Hey are we gonna get him" I say trying to sound cool
"oh yes we are" he says pushing up his hat keeping up with his cool guy look "and don't try and sound like a cool guy, it's supposed to be my job" he says smiling and gesturing to follow him around the corner.
"where do you think he will be?" I ask looking at Kevin wink at some girls looking at him "he's such a ladies man" I tell myself mentally.
"Oh I know exactly where the punk will be" he says pointing to building on the other side of the courtyard "and don’t be jealous you don’t get chicks like me, because I know that’s what your thinkin' about" he says giving me a sly smile, he's too good at reading me, I know that sometimes girls come an asks him out but he hasn't accepted any requests for the past year. I wonder if he likes someone in particular. I continue following him through the buildings till he suddenly stops "look around this corner is where I saw him go after class last lesson" he says before fixing his shirt and hat then walking around the corner I quickly follow behind him then I look up to see Steven...pashing some girl against a wall! When did this happen. "wow Steven you sure pulled a hottie" Kevin said sounding smug, I really felt some weird aura off of Kevin as he said this. Then I see Steven release the girl from the inside of his mouth and jump in front of her to hide her from Kevin's ongoing glare. "It-I-I I'm sorry" he says going an even darker shade of red. What does he have to be sorry about we caught him…
"I don't what your so sorry about, but I don't want to take it" Kevin said with a different tone not is cool guy tone but more of a farther kind of tone.
"I'm not as so sorry to you as much as I am to Aden, I tricked him more than I tricked you" he said, the girl was now whispering something into his ear and picked up her bag and ran off. "how did you 'trick' Aden more than me?" Kevin said begging to sound upset
"Aden remember when you came to my house and I shoved you out like I didn’t want to see another second of your face?" Steven said walking closer to us so he didn't have to yell "yeah I remember" I say already coming to a conclusion in my head
"well I had her coming over later that afternoon so I didn't want you to be there when she arrived" he said shuffling his feet and looking down.
" Oh I see, but you could have just told us" I say trying to make him feel better after having to confess that
"So are you two dating?" Kevin says sounding more mad
"yea" Steven muttered looking down again
"you bastard!!" Kevin said as he looked up. When he did look up Kevin Punched him clean in the jaw. He fell to the ground holding his quickly swelling face tears welling up in his eyes.
"C'mon Aden lets get outta here" Kevin said bringing back his bad boy talk and dragging me away by my arm. I see Steven look back up at us so I just mouthed 'Sorry' as best I could.
The rest of the day was so confusing Kevin gave me silent treatment or rather I didn't try to talk to him he looked that pissed off. Damn he sure was pissed about it, I wonder if that was the girl that he liked? Or weather he just didn't like Steven keeping secrets, maybe to look like he does, both? Well I don't really have a problem with it, sort of. I feel betrayed he kept a girl from us, I wonder how long, It seems to have only have gotten serious lately, well serious enough that he will skip lunch with us to go make out with her behind the buildings.
