CHAPTER 1

Maria's P.O.V.

I woke up and felt a pair of arms around my waist. I could smell the fruit shampoo he used and I could feel his body heat. As soon as I turn around to see Luke, he licks my face.

"Luke! Stop, you silly" I say while I attempt to get out of the bed. "Oh, no. Don't give me that look! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you babe... You know what? Guess what we're doing today!" I say shaking Luke's leads and his face lights up. "We're going to the park!"

I love my dog. He's the only one who can make me smile in every situation, even in those mornings when I feel like stabbing everyone.

After eating breakfast, we got out of the house and headed to Central Park. As soon as we arrived there, Luke started to jump up and down. Suddenly, he started to run super fast and I, of course, started to run after him.

"Luke!" I yelled, "Come here! STOP! Luke, I'm telling you, if you don't stop right now I won't buy you that toy you've been asking for!" I said almost out of breath.

And with that, he stopped. We were now in front of a group of guys. Three of them were laughing their asses off while the other one was as red as a mexican tomato. I didn't understand why they were laughing so I ignored them and tried to get my dog, who decided to jump into the arms of one of the goofy guys. He was muscular, tan and had some tattoos here and there. I had to admit, he was hot! But the one that really caught my attention was the red faced one. He was blonde, hair shaped in a quiff, had blue eyes and a lip ring. Basically, everything I look for in a guy. Not that I walk around only looking for blonde boys, with blue eyes and a piercing somewhere. The thing is, I've always had a crush for blonde guys and if they happen to have blue eyes, it's even better. Plus, the piercing adds a badass touch, which I personally think is super sexy! And there I was, in front of a guy with all of it. Not a reason to feel nervous at all!

"Oh, I'm really sorry! This has never happened to me before." I say, the nerves on my voice coming through, a reflection of how I was feeling inside. "Luke can be very responsible, you know. When he wants to, when he wants to. Right Lukey?" I say patting my dog's head.

The guys laughed even harder this time and I was even more confused. "Maybe I have something on my teeth? Oh God! I hope I don't!" I thought to myself. I was interrupted from my thoughts when Mr. Everything I Look For In A Guy spoke up.

"Guys, do you mind?" he said. "You're making this very uncomfortable".

They stopped but deep down they wanted to continue. I know because one of them, the one with the funniest giggle, was holding back a laugh and, because of that, was super red and had tears forming in his eyes. If I'm being honest here, just hearing his laugh made me want to laugh too but, on the other hand, I felt like crying due to the embarrassment.
"I'm sorry. My name's Luke, that's why they're reacting this way" the boy said looking at me in the eye. Damn, those eyes! They were killing me! "Also, because it seems like your dog and I have the same personality" he continued. I noticed by his accent that he was australian, which was even hotter. Then again, another thing I'm totally obsessed about. I've always had this feeling for australians. I don't know if it's the accent or vibe, all I know is that it's attractive. And this guy, who happens to have the same name as my dog and all the features I admire, is the perfect proof of that. Being so caught up on my thoughts, all I was able to say was a simple "Oh..."

"Hi beautiful! My name's Michael" the blue haired said and shook my hand. "This is Calum" he said pointing to the tan one, who smiled widely at me. "That's Ashton and... well, Luke you already know. It seems like you live with him" he said winking his eye. That, of course, only made me feel even more nervous.

"Hey, I'm Maria" I said shaking my hand awkwardly. I didn't know what else to do so I just stood there looking at them and mentally telling my dog to move his ass to the floor and come home with me.

"Wanna hang with us?" Ashton asked. I was surprised by this question. I mean, we just met and he was already asking me to stay with them? If it was back in Portugal, I would have probably agreed straight away because I was in a familiar environment. But since I was in a total different country, that I didn't knew completely, I decided to decline the offer.

"Oh, I don't..." I was interrupted by my dog, who was barking and jumping, trying to tell me to stay. I wasn't sure if I should stay or not, but they say dogs can sense if a person is bad, right? And since Luke was willing to stay, I decided to give it a try. "Well, it looks like Luke wants me to stay, so why not?" And that's when I realized what I just said. "Oh, I... I didn't mean it like that!" I said blushing. I just wanted to find some place to hide. For God's sake, I just met them and I already embarrassed myself twice. Just great!

They started laughing at the situation and I joined. I mean, even if I didn't want to, Ashton's laugh would have made me. It is contagious!

"Ok, let's play a game with this little guy" Calum said referring to my black french bulldog.

After we played with him, we went to Starbucks and talked a little bit so we could get to know each other better. They told me they were a band. 5 Seconds of Summer (or 5SOS) was their name. I had never heard about them, but something tells me that I'll get to know them pretty well. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

If you found any spelling/grammar mistakes, I'm truly sorry. You see, my native language is not english, it's portuguese, so I guess it's understandable. Also, this is the first time I'm writing a fanfic, so I'm sorry if it's not that good. I know that Luke's fanfics set the bar way up there, but I wanted to make my bf happy so I decided to give it a shot.

Anyways, I hope you liked this chapter! I know it's short but it's just because it's the first one. I wanted it to be like some type of intro to what this is going to be about. I hope you stay tuned because a lot of good things are about to happen.
