Ch. 2

Jace's POV

"I'm taking Henry for a walk" I called as I attached the leash to the puppy's collar. Immediately after we walk out the door Henry starts barking so I look up to see what it is. There's a girl I've never seen before, she's coming closer. I wonder if she sees me because it kind of looks like she's gonna walk right into me. "Hey" I say. I grabbed her attention so she stopped walking in time that she would hit me. "Hi, I'm Emma I just moved in down the street"

Emma. I knew I hadn't seen her around before. "Yeah I heard about you, your auditioning for a part on Henry Danger right?" "Yeah I'm auditioning on Thursday" she said. She looks nervous. But there's something about her that I like. "Haha you know that part is the one that plays Henry's girlfriend and I play Henry" I say because I couldn't have been any more awkward. She laughed. "Yeah, but who knows I might not even get the part" she said looking down. "I think you will. In my opinion your perfect for the roll" I said without thinking. I just told her that she's perfect for the roll of my girlfriend. What was I thinking? "Really you think I could get the part?" To be totally honest I think she can. "Yeah. I do."

Emma's POV

I can't believe Jace Norman thinks I can get the part and that he thinks I'm perfect for it. I mean he was probably just trying to be nice. "Thanks. Fingers crossed, hopefully we can be costars."

There was an awkward pause were I just stared at the ground but I could feel his eyes on me. I wasn't sure what to do. I looked up at him about to say something that would have ruined the whole thing but luckily he interrupted my thoughts "hey could I get your number?" He just asked for my number. Ok I'm very cool. But I'm totally kidding, I just hope it looks like I'm very cool. "Yeah, sure." He hands me his phone and I type in my info and give it back. It got awkward again and I have no clue what to say or do.

Just then my phone rang. I looked at the screen. "It's my mom" I tell him.

"Hey mom, what's up?"

"Hey sweetie where are you?"

"I'm just down the street. Why do you need me?"

"I just got a call from your manager and she said that your audition got changed to Saturday"

"Really? Tomorrow? That's amazing"

I could see Jace out of the corner of my eye. He looked eager to know what was happening. I couldn't help but smile at that. And the fact that my audition is tomorrow.

"Yes. Be home in an hour?"

"Ok mom. Love you."

"Love you too. Bye.

I hang up the phone and turn to Jace who's waiting me to tell him what just happened. "My audition got moved to tomorrow" I say trying to hold in my excitement. "Really that's great." He said.

"Is that your dog?" I asked "Yeah his name is Henry. He's a golden retriever" \\ a/n can someone tell me if that's right bc I'm not entirely sure that's the kind of dog he has. \\
"Awwe he's so cute" I gush. "Thanks. I was about to take him for a walk." "Oh I'm sorry, I'll leave you to it." I say as I start walking away. As I start walking I hear him call "Wait, you wanna come with?" At this point I really hope I look as cool as I'm trying to be as I say "yeah totally."

We start walking and I low-key let Jace lead the way because I just moved here and have no clue where I'm going. "There's a park right up here that I usually take Henry to." "Ok cool. I have no clue where I'm going." I giggle. Jace smiles, which made me smile too.

Jace's POV

We got to the park and I let Henry run around with the other dogs there. I showed Emma to the bench where I usually sit. She sat down and I sat next to her. "So when did you move?" I ask. "We got here this afternoon. We drove from Arizona." She said.

Then before I could think of anything to say she cut off my train of thought. "What's it like being in a TV show?" She asked. "It's great. It's really fun, you get to act and be silly and serious at the same time. You get really close with the cast members too. You'll love it."

She smiled. I can't help but stare at her. I just met her and I don't know what it is about her that I like but there is definitely something. As I watch Henry running back over to me I realize that it got kind of dark outside. I check my phone

8.46 p.m.

When did it get so late? Have I been talking to her for this long? "I should probably get going, it's getting late" she said. "I was just thinking the same thing." I laughed. Then she laughed, and her laugh made me smile more. I really want to get to know her better. We start to walk home. "Hey, do you want to hang out sometime?" I ask. After a minute she answered "definitely." I smiled and so did she.

We got to our street and I walked her home. Her mom came to the door as we walked up. "Hi honey, who's this?" She asked motioning to me.

"Hi, Mrs. ..."

"You can call me Ms. Blake"

"Alright, hi Ms. Blake, I'm Jace nice to meet you."

She turned to Emma and whispered "the Jace?" Emma answered "Yes mom he plays Henry/Kid Danger in Henry danger."

I wonder if they know I can hear them. Henry barked softly and they stopped whispering. "Goodnight Jace, thanks for walking me home." Emma said. "No problem. See you tomorrow. Goodnight Emma, Ms. Blake." I turned around and walked home. I can't stop thinking about Emma.

I unlock my phone to her contact info from earlier. It's 11.54 p.m, I wonder if she's even awake.

Jace: Hey Emma, it's Jace are you still up?

Almost immediately my phone buzzed

Emma: Yea hey.

Jace: What's up?

Emma: Just getting ready for my audition tm, hbu?

Jace: Nm. Can I come and watch your audition? Maybe we could hang out after.

Emma: Yea that sounds great. Where are we gonna hang out, I have to ask my mom?

Jace: How about Starbucks?

Emma: That sounds great. My mom said it's cool.

Jace: Awesome. My mom can drop us off after your audition.

Emma: Ok, see you then. Gn.

Jace: Gn

Emma's POV

After Jace texted me goodnight I put my phone down and read through the script I had been given to audition with again for probably about the 1000th time. I know all the lines but I just really want to get this part. My phone buzzed again. I pick it up. It's a text from Kayla. She was my best friend back in Arizona but when I told her about the show she got all mad and wouldn't talk to me.

Kayla: Hi Emma. I feel really bad about everything I said. Your my best friend and are
so lucky to get to have your dream come true. Friends?

Emma: Hey I'm so happy you texted, I've missed you as a friend. Of course we can still be friends. You are never gonna guess what happened today.

Kayla: What?

Emma: I live down the block from Jace Norman. The real Jace Norman. And we hung out. And my audition got moved to tm and he's gonna watch me and he asked me to go to Starbucks with him after. I think he might like me.

Kayla: Omg are you serious? That's huge. But come on Em he's Jace Norman and your just Emma Blake, why would he like you?

Emma: Yea. Your probably right. Well I gtg, my auditions tm. Gn.

Kayla: Gn.

Ok so maybe Kayla's a little mean. But it's better than nothing. I look at my pictures at the selfies I took with Jace earlier. I decide to post the best one on Instagram. I edit it and tag Jace then I post it with this caption:
@emma.blakee : I had a great time with these boys
Just to be clear Jace, his dog Henry and I were in the picture. Once I post it and plug my phone into charge and try to get some sleep before tomorrow.
