Taken Away

Standing on the tracks.
I can feel my muscles tensing.
The mega ton vehicle approaching.
Faster and faster.
As it comes closer it seems to grow.
Bigger and bigger.
The tracks vibrate violently,
The low hum of the soon yet run down metal filling my head.
I stand there.
Eyes closed, arms spread out.
I'm ready.
This is what's best.
This is what I deserve.
This is what everyone needs.
A rush fills me.
Suddenly, my eyes open.
My heart beats faster, faster, and faster still.
I smile.
I smile to the end.
Then, my heart gives its last beat,
Before my body is slammed and taken away.
Taken away along with my future.
Along with my hopes and dreams.
But none of it matters.
It's all been taken away.
