Chapter Two

** Mels POV **

As I started walking up the road to her house, I looked around at all the other houses and trees. To my left there were some little kids playing.

The hill up to her house wasn't that steep but it also wasn't that flat either.

It didn't take long to get to her house. It was the second to last house on my right. It had a drak-ish red porch with a tin roof to block the rain. Behind that was a trampoline.

Once I get there I see her sitting on her porch steps on her phone. It was a slightly bigger phone than mine with a purple case.

I walk up to her and sit next to her.

I look up at her with a small smile, "Hi" I say quietly but loud enough so she could hear me.

She looks up from her phone meeting my eyes. "Hey" She said smiling back and setting her phone down next to her.

B: "So how's school been for ya so far?"
M: "Same as last year. I'm still quite so one bothers me and I've started reading a few new books that I really like so far."
B: "That's great! I'm happy you're into reading. Same for me as last year except I have a crush."
M: "Really? Who is it? Do I know them? Is it a boy or a girl?"
B: "Calm down, I'm not telling yet." She says as she looks into my eyes and pushing my arm playfully.

"Fine I'll wait to find out." I giggle a little bit and stand up.

"Wanna go for a little walk with me around the neighborhood?" I ask a small smile on my face as I look at her.

"Sure let me tell my sister first." She says as she picks up her phone and goes into her house to tell her sister. Once she's inside I sit back down on her porch steps.

** Boncas POV **

I walk into the coolness of my house away from the August warmth outside and my best friend who has no idea I'm in love with her. As I walk into my bedroom I trip from getting distracted by her.

I hit the ground with a small thud. Once I stand back up I see my sister on her bed typing away at her phone.

"Hey I'm going to go walk around the neighborhood be back in a few." I say to her.

"Ok but we have to clean soon so don't be gone long."

" I won't." I say as I leave the room to go back outside.

I walk back outside to see Melissa sitting on the porch steps on her phone. Once she noticed me she quickly turned it off and put in back in her back pocket.

"So wanna go anywhere spusific or do u just want to walk around?" She asks me with a slight smile.

"Umm....I dunno....go to the park I guess." I answer back with a smile.

She nodded her head and we started walking.

"So...do I at least get hints on who your crush is?" She asks while looking at the ground.

"Hmm...maybe I'm not sure." I say looking over at her.

She nods and doesn't say anymore. We finally get to the very crapy park in our neighborhood. The park has one swing for bigger kids and a baby swing next to it. Next to that is a very rusty slid. After the slide there are two rusty animal swings. One is a blue seal and the other is a brown horse.

Once we arive we race to the swings. She wins as usual and starts swinging. I go to the swing next to her but don't get on it.

"So how are your classes so far?" I ask trying to start a conversation.

"Their good I guess. It's usually pretty boring. How bout you?" She says.

"Same. I wish you were in my classes though." I say truthfully.

"Ya me too." She says back.

After about an hour of talking and goofing around we headed back to my house.

Once we got there she took out her phone and checked the time.

"Ah crap, I gotta go home so my mom and get ready to go to work but I'll text u when I get home." She says with a frown.

"Okai. Ya I have to go and clean with my sister and take a shower so ok. Bye." I say and walk over to her and hug her. She hugged back and then pulled away.

"Bye!" She says as she leaves.
