People say video games are mind-destroying, killer-maker, fantasies that inspire violence but boy are they fun. And that's real bullshit. It's not like playing Medal of Honor made Osama Binladin hat Americans. Nazis sure, but not the free world. Out of all video games and video game series I play and have played my favorite is by far Brothers In Arms. Contrary to what most people know, BIA is actually based on a real person. All the events form Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30, are true with little to no exadiration in the game. The real man it was based on was named Sergent Harrison C. Summers. Summers was a paratrooper in Normandy just like the game portrays Matt Baker to be. The setting of the game is also very similar to what is really there. There are photos I found online of the real places from the game. The real missions which Summers actually took part in that were in the game were XYZ, and Purple Heart Lane. I and most others know little about what Summers was like as a person. I enjoy the game mainly because it was true and honorable. I love World War Two history and love all things WW2. I don't play the old games any more because they only make them for IOS and they suck. I have all my favorite ones thought, BIA RTH30, BIA EIB, AND BIA HH. I have the first two for my mac and Hell's Highway on my Xbox 360. My friends don't love it as much as I do but they like games. The thing I felt Ubisoft failed to do with HH was to make it play well. The game looks great and story is okay and the guns are good, but the gameplay sucks and you feel like you're in an old arcade game, you feel frail and so do the Germans. I was in My garage playing BIA with Max. Max wasn't too into FPS (First Person Shooter or for airsoft Feet Per Second) games but he enjoyed them.
"So dude, what's going on with you and Tracy?" He asked.
"Nothing." I said focused on the game. I was on the Hell's Highway level itself and in the river currently. I was shooting at the Germans on the bridge but the Mother Truckers wouldn't die.
"Don't try to hide it bro come on, Spill."
"She's hot yeah but I can't date her."
"Why the hell not? You just said you Like Her..."
"She told me she just wanted to be friends."
"Man dude. You like her. She's hot. Tell her how you feel." max urdged
"Dude seriously, I'd rather have a friend than nothing."
"Todd come on you always-" he cut off abruptly. "Never mind."
"What?"
"Nothing man."
"No what?" I asked no looking at him and raising my voice. I paused the game.
"It's just, You always wimp out when you have the chance to ask a girl out, I want you to be happy man." He said.
I thought for a minute. He wasn't wrong, I'd had chances to get girlfriends before but never acted on it. Now I had a chance but I knew if she didn't say yes she would probably not speak to me again.
"I can't Max." I said.
"Okay if you feel that strongly about it I won't push you but you should get a girlfriend."
I unpaused the game and kept playing but I couldn't take my mind off of her. I should just get another girl to go out with me. This would allow me to satisfy my need for a girl and still keep my relation ship with Tracy Platonic.
"Supose I do ask her out," I said to Max, "And she says no, then what?"
"Then it's over and you let it go, you find another girl and you go out with her."
"I still don't think that's worth losing a friend over."
"Like I said, whatever you think is best, is best."
I was in a pickle but I made my desicsion, hang out with Tracy more, then decide If you really want to date her. After I beat the level We went up stairs into my house and watched Parks and Recreation on my TV. We drank Coke and sat laughing at the hilarious jokes. We all loved parks and rec and any hilarious comedy. I was a laughter and adreline junky.
"Todd," Max said in between episodes, "I Don't know what you should do, but I do know that if you want to date her, do it now or else somebody else is going to do it."
"Yeah, okay." I knew he was right, but I also knew I could loose a friend. I decided to stick with the plan form before. Plan A.
