The Cherub's Story

The First Day

"EAGLE COLLEGE", the big board outside the road that led to the college had the wordings on it. The gates were like big shark teeth. The watchman welcomed all freshers with a warm big smile. We went in. I experimented each thing I saw by. There were 3 big buildings separated by a big distance. We started searching for BCA 1st year classroom. After a 15 mins search , we reached the classroom. There were about 300 chairs. A huge air conditioned classroom with attractive furniture and a big white screen with projectors for smart teaching. We went and sat at the third row from down. Very soon, Every students assembled and the classes began. Mr. Sharma , our class teacher came and gave an introduction speech and further asked other students to give a brief introduction about themselves. There were about 267 names for me to memorize excluding Pooja, Karthik and mine's. Then we were asked to assemble in the assembly hall where the grouping would take place, where each of the students would be given a a group out of 4,( The Star's, The moon's, The Sun's, The Galaxy's) for expressing and exploring their talents. It looked like a big Harry Potter movie's Dining hall. It was so amazing. All the first years assembled there. It was a lot system for choosing the groups. Luckily we three got the same group "The Star's". But unluckily our Group leader was Gaurav. Then after the selection of groups we were taken to our respective Group Halls. Where there was about 1000 chairs and a big stage. Yea. It was the freshers party. Also I came to know that Gaurav was the all over College pupil leader. So our group was the strongest till date. On the stage was, Gaurav with A guitar. The entire audience started cheering up for Gaurav.Gaurav started his solo performance for the tune of Backstreet boys. There was a huge applause from the crowd. Karthik have a huge whistle for Gaurav. Next came the Romeo Juliet Drama. He played the Romeo and Ria, the Juliet. Actually Ria isn't a student in the college . But due to a special offer from her dad, she has permission to stay in the college and attend classes with Gaurav. Also can participate in special events like these. Now about the drama, the drama was so realistic and at the end when Romeo dies, a tear rolled down from everyone's eyes. There was a wave of magic in the entire drama. I also was satisfied because I saw Ria. Next was a group song ,then a devotional song by Sona. And then, a dance performed by "Nutty" group, which consisted of 3rd years :Gaurav , Ashok, Kiran, Amir, Nihan, Suvir and Navneet. The group rocked for the song of Michael Jackson's "The Dangerous". The entire students stood up and started dancing to the beat and it was a hat's Off Performance. Then now came Gaurav's speech as follows , " Dearmost juniors, this college is totally different from other colleges. First of all my warm and hearty welcome to all of my juniors. You will come to know very soon about the entire fun and enjoyment of our college. We give first importance to Extra curricular activities 2 nd to the discipline and next only to the academic performance on studies . I hope you will enjoy. I am your leader for this year. And I have been the leader for this group for the past two years also. Any complaints or suggestions, you can write to me . Love letters instead of suggestions should not be given. Last year instead of suggestions I received a lot of love letters and I don't want you juniors also to repeat the same. You can use mobiles inside the college premises and also in the classroom with faculty permission. You can enjoy well but don't forget to respect your seniors and faculties. I ensure that there will be no ragging in the college. There will be so many programmes and fun throughout the year and so kindly do actively participate in all the cultural events as well as competitions. If I am unable to receive your suggestions you can inform to Assistant CPL Sanjay, from the second year. I will also guide you and will motivate you in all the aspects which I can. Thanks for listening my speech.Finally, Are you satisfied with me being your Group leader ?" Gaurav raised question towards all the juniors and everyone shouted continuously " Yes Gaurav. We love you ". I wanted to shout ' I am dissatisfied with you Mr.Gaurav' . But anyways I don't want to be the odd one out in that group. So i remained silent.
