Sorry for the long wait on the update. I've been having writers block ^^
A good month had gone by, Bren was still human, but she was being trained to act like a Vampire Queen. Walking in heels with her chin high, eating foods that looked raw and bloody, pulling her long curls into a bun rather than pigtails, fighting any one that tried dying it black or cutting it. If anything she would go back to blonde like her mother.
Her father kept her hidden in the castle. No one knew she even existed, he felt it would protect her until she was ready to become a vampire. Then she would be able to protect herself from anyone who would try to cross her.
Every once in a while her father would show her files of male vampires who would be eligible for her hand. None of them satisfied her taste. Vampires weren't beautiful glowing God-like creatures of the night. They had flaws like humans do, except their flaws were more demon like. Some had permanent full black eyes, some had bluish scaly skin, or black skin. Some had sunken in cheek bones, pointed ears, and forked tongues. Though all very powerful, and wealthy. Their files bragged about their power the most.
"Father, can't it just wait till I can meet them in person?"
"We are trying our hardest to get this celebration together. I want to make sure you can pass as a vampire before I send you out into a crowd of hungry beasts who might hurt you. I want you to be safe and happy." He touched her chin lightly with his fingers. "I think a few more days of training will be perfect."The day before the celebration finally arrived. Bren would be getting to meet her suitors, they would be forced to sign a contract, keeping their lips sealed about Brens issue. By the time the celebration ends tomorrow, Bren will have picked someone to keep her safe until the day she is to be turned.
They stuck her in a short black dress with spiderweb lace. Her hair was pulled back into two pigtails on the high back of her head.
She was very nervous, they would be the first vampires out of her family she would ever meet. And she had to marry one of them.
Her father placed her in his throne and stood at the arm of the chair. Her body trembled out of fear. Fear that one of these men would soon be her husband, fear that they could kill her in a snap, fear that she might not impress them.
While her list ran through her head, the maids lead a group of at least 20 men into the throne room. Many of them looked around, taking in the the decorations. Soon all of their eyes landed on tiny little Brenhilda. Some smirked or frowned while others stayed emotionless.Next chapter will be posted tonight.
