It was the day of the celebration. The moment the sun went down, Heath shot out of his coffin and spent the rest of the evening getting ready. As he shuffled around his room looking for his favorite pair of plugs, his mother pushed the door open, almost in tears smiling. Her hair was still wrapped in a towel and she was wearing a black oversized robe.
"Mother I'm busy, go get ready." He pulled a drawer open and dig through it.
"I know dear, it just makes me so proud to see how excited you are to do this. The celebration doesn't start till midnight and you're already dressed and 'pumped up' to go win that girls heart, just for me." Heath rolled his eyes and ignored his mothers 'tears of joy'. If he told her he was doing this for the princess, she would probably cry even more, and to avoid that, he kept his mouth shut.Midnight finally rolled around, Heath had to practically rush his mother out the door and into their limo. His mother insisted that they arrive to such an event in the limousine, otherwise she would have pitched a fit.
The celebration looked like a red carpet event. Only high class would be allowed to even attend this guest list party, and only the men from last night would be allowed to speak with the princess unless the King said otherwise.
Heath's mother took him by the arm and their names were announced as they entered the ball room. A Cello only version of Thunderstruck created the opening mood.
Heath's eyes scanned the room for the King. He knew that wherever the King would be, the princess would also be. His mother wandered off to talk to some of her girlfriends, leaving Heath to push through the crowd.~
The dressed her in a light purple corseted dress with black rose print. It was longer in the back than it was in the front, she also had fishnet stockings to cover her legs and a pair of combat buckle boots with bows on her feet. They tried to straighten her curls as much as possible, it only made her hair look much longer. On top of her pink and blue head rested a tiny crown made of crystals to signify who she was.
Bren knew even without the crown she would stick out like a bright pastel sore thumb.
Bren clung to her fathers arm with a force not normal for such a tiny human being. She was afraid that a stray vampire might notice that she is not one of them and try to kill her.
"Brenhilda, relax my dumpling. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you. I only allowed people I know into this party. If anyone tries to sneak in they will be escorted out. If anyone even looks at you wrong, they will be escorted out. Be brave and hold your head high and no one will notice." He pried her hands from his suit sleeve and turned her around to face the crowd.
"Go talk to some people. Introduce yourself. Get to know your future kingdom."The only thing Bren heard while making her way around the room were comments about how weak she looked. Some denied that she could ever be her fathers child. Though Bren didn't let any of these words get to her, she kept her chin elevated and kept an eye out for any of the suitors.
Soon enough, a man with slicked back blonde hair and piercing red eyes approached her. The vampire towered over her, making her feel smaller than usual.
"Princess." He smiled, showing his fangs, then bowed.
He made her feel uncomfortable, but for her fathers sake, she would try talking to him, maybe a dance or two. He wasn't her first stop of course, there were many other men here waiting for her to even glance their way.~
By the time Heath spotted the princess, she was busy having the back of her hand kissed by another man. A slight twinge of jealousy shot through him just as two hands landed on each of his shoulders.
"We got you bro." Ren grinned to the left.
"Yeah man, leave it to us. We're going to help you get that girl." Ran, grinning to the right.
"And why is it you want to help me?" Heath turned to face the two goons behind him.
"Well, we agreed that it wouldn't be good if we had to fight over the princess." Ren started.
"I said we should share her." Ran interrupted.
"But I disagreed."
"So instead we decided to help you get her."
"We think you deserve her."
"And we want to cause a little trouble."
The two snickered, Heath couldn't help but to smirk.
"So just leave it to us. Wait here." Ren poked Heath in the chest before the two took off in the direction of the Princess.
