Riley’s POV

I woke up to the radio on my alarm clock and groaned, remembering that summer was over and today is the first day of 10th grade. I hit the “off” button on my alarm clock, kicked the sheets off my PJ covered body and dragged my tired self out of bed and, to my dresser.

I peeled off, my Tinker Bell tank-top and short set, and pulled on; my bra, my blue and white stripped bow back half sleeve top, my red loose skinnies, and my socks, that I picked out last night.

I walked out of my bedroom now fully clothed, and across the hall, into the bathroom locking the door behind me. I could hear the shower running from down stairs, signaling that my older and only brother/sibling, Hunter, taking his morning shower, I would too but I have gym this semester, so I’m better off waiting to take one after school, right? Anyways, I turn on the light and squint at the brightness of it, until my (In my opinion, plain and boring) brown eyes adjust to it. I grabbed my brush and brushed my hair, then my straighter and plugged it in. Once fully heated I straightened my bright red hair, then grabbed my makeup box from under the sink and applied a bit of black mascara, black eyeliner, and peach lip gloss.

Once done I put everything had taken away, exited the bathroom, down the hall to the kitchen, meeting  my 18 year old brother, who was obviously at this point out of the shower and ready for school, as I was.

We grabbed our lunch boxes, put the freezer packs in em’, then put em’ in out book bags and headed towards the door to greet our mom before school. We slipped on our shoes, hugged our mom, – saying a quick goodbye with a kiss on the cheek from the both of us – walked out the door, into Hunter’s shinny black mustang and drove off to school.

Hunter pulls up into the schools parking lot and parks the mustang in the closest, open spot to the doors. I smile in mischief, catching his attention, and then kiss him on the cheek, annoying him. I smile content, before grabbing my bag from the back seat and stepping out the door, him following my actions, as we head to the gym to grab out schedules.

My schedule is;

8: 15am - Science

9:30am - 15 minutes break

9:45am – Gym

11:00 - lunch

11:55am - Geography

1:20pm – English

2:35pm – End of school

Each class is 75 minutes long each.

From there we go our separate ways. I grab my schedule, and head to my locker. When I get there I open my lock, throw my book bag in, take my books, which are already in my locker, close it up again, then head to my first class.

As I head to class, which is Science, I looked for my small group of friends but found none of them. I sighed once I reached the class room, hoping I know at least one person in there then entered. There they were, my small group of 4 friends talking and laughing amongst themselves.

In an instant I ran towards them yelling their names, “Karli, Phoenix, Jade, Sabrina!”

They all turned to face me and opened there arms out for me yelling back, “Oh my god, Riley!” We all ended up in a group hug.

“I can’t believe we are all in the same classes!” Sabrina said.

“Me either,” we all replied in unison.

“I haven’t seen you guys all summer I missed you all,” I said after putting my stuff on an empty desk and hugging them all again.

“Listen here Riley, not all of us were in the US riding horses with cowboys,” Karli joked. Karli’s my cousin by the way, I love her.
