Borrowed Time: Doctor Who Fanfic Idea

Title: Borrowed Time

Based On: Doctor Who

Description: Unlocked TARDIS + intergalactic space thief = exactly what you'd expect

Time Frame: 11th Doctor, definitely the Ponds, maybe Season 6 or 7.

Characters: OC, Amy Pond, Rory Williams, River Song, 11th Doctor ect

Pairings: Amy/Rory, Doctor/River, maybe Doctor/OC depending.

General Ideas:
I based my idea, which is flimsy at best, on the line "Oh, I do love unlocked doors.", it just seemed to me something that a character from Doctor Who would say. My idea was that on a trip to the 50th century, the 11th Doctor along with the Ponds would leave the TARDIS unlocked and run off somewhere. Enter OC character (I imagined them as a sort of cross between Clara Oswald and Captain Jack Harkness because God knows the doctor just keeps attracting those kinds of people) who happens to be a spaceship thief, imagine their utter delight at discovering the goldmine that is the TARDIS unlocked and ripe for the taking. They take the TARDIS for a spin, the TARDIS lets them because she is aware of the OC's significance in the Doctor's life, an meanwhile the Doctor has returned to find the TARDIS gone and is obviously pissed. Eventually, OC is found by the Doctor and somehow ends up becoming at least a semi-permanent passenger on the TARDIS. Shenanigans and adventures ensue. I imagined that it would at least follow along the series a little bit in passing, if not with the actual episodes happening with the addition of the OC, but will also include a deviation from plot by having a short arc detailing the OC's past and the reasons they were forced into being an intergalactic space thief.

Other Details:
The contraption shown on the cover is meant to be a really old fashioned Vortex Manipulator that the OC carries around on their wrist, but it's broken and therefore stuck on the date 18th of May 2014, meaning that they can only travel to that day if they use it. The 18th of May 2014 is a big day of significance to the OC that would ideally be incorporated into the OC's personal story arc, I never planned out why that date was significant so I'll leave it up to interpretation. However, it is important to note that the OC will not allow the Doctor to fix the Vortex Manipulator even when he offers.
I also intended for this OC to either leave or die before the 11th Doctor regenerates into his 12th body, when and how was not planned.
It was also very important to me that "Oh, I do love unlocked doors." became a sort of catchphrase for the OC and there for it would need repeated use through out the story.
