Prologue
Larissa P.O.V
“Larissa, come here a minuet.”
“OK mommy.” I skipped down stairs to the kitchen were my mom was waiting. As I entered the kitchen the lights were off, I looked around in suspicion. “Mommy?”
“Yes darling, come here.” My mom stated. I reluctantly proceeded towards the sound of her voice. All of a sudden the lights burst into life and a chorus of Happy Birthday swam to my ears. A grin stretched across my face. My eyes lit up in excitement as the realization hit me. I'm 10!!! There in the corner stood a strange man staring at me with a glint with in his eye. I felt a stroke of fear running up my spine when I court his glistening eye.
“Honey, come meet Mr. Luka Novoski. He’s a Russian friend of your daddy. You’re going marry him” I felt sadness, fear and dread wash over me. My mummy bent down and whispered in my ear you want to make daddy happy don’t you. I reluctantly nodded. Daddy’s scary when he’s mad so I agreed.
Today my life was going to change for ever.
