The harsh wind blew as rain poured down, everyone running from the dark shadows that were surrounding the village. Sparks of color and light shot out into the air continuously, desperately trying to overcome the darkness that was trying to take them down.
A group of men and women tried effortlessly to escape, all while protecting a couple from any sort of danger. One by one they either collapsed or were consumed by the shadows, the couple just barely making it out of their grasp as they quickly ran into the line of trees leading to a monstrous forest.
Screams of the innocent and howls of the wicked were soon left behind, the innocent couple running to find some means of shelter.
The husband had found a small opening of a cave, quickly leading his wife inside as he casted a boundary to hide them away from any harm. He helped her into the back and gently set her down, her attention being consumed by the wrapped bundle in her arms.

"Bedelia, we can not stay here any longer. We must leave," he pulled his hood down to reveal his harsh yet gentle face, worry filling his dark brown eyes.
"Mikeal please, what about him," his wife pleaded out as a strand of dark hair fell from her hood, "we can not just go out and risk him getting hurt. There must be another way!"
The bundle in her arms shifted, the cloth loosening to reveal a sleeping baby.
She pulled her hood down, sad blue eyes looking down as her husband moved closer to her side, both staring cautiously at their son.
"I can not think of any other way," he said as he slowly moved his hand onto his wife's shoulder, "we must take the risk if we are to survive this."
She gently caressed her son's cheek, his eyelids fluttering open to reveal ice blue irises.
She could feel the pain in her heart as she looked down at her son, wanting no harm done to him she felt at a loss as she spoke, "I do not want to risk anything, he must be kept safe. Please Mikeal, we can do something!"
Her son looked up at them both, smiling as his eyes lit up with love and affection.

The couple sat silently, only speaking with their eyes and hands, wanting to savor this quiet moment together for as long as they could.
A bright flash came from outside, the cave shaking under it's force.
The baby cried out of fear, his father hastily getting up and running out towards the darkness as his wife shouted for him to return. He made it to the mouth of the cave before being blasted back by a powerful force, a dark figure crashing through the magical barrier.
He hastily crawled back to his wife, her arms wrapping around him as he pulled out his wand, casting themselves away from the cave. Soon they appeared in an alley, miles away from the forest, and ran out into the street; shacks and buildings closing them in from any form of easy escape. The dark figure appeared just behind them, grabbing one of them by the ankle and dragging them down.

"Mikeal!"
He quickly looked back at his wife with wide, horror filled, eyes as he tried to yell for her but was filled with so much fear.
"Bedelia- ! Take him somewhere safe, I'll get out of- just run!"
The figure forced him back, sparks flying from both of them as they fought against one another.

Bedelia ran, not looking back at her husband, as she tried to look for somewhere safe. She quickly ran past a small little building, a plaque just barely visible in the rain as she ran up to the door. She could hear her husband cry out, blood curdling screams filled her head as tears streamed down her face.
She gently placed the small bundle at the foot of the door, holding onto his small hand as she couldn't bare to let him go just yet.

"Please be safe, I wish to come back to you. If not," she pulled her wand out and began to cast a spell, "I hope that you are treated well."
A wave of color and power washed over the boy; golden stitching appeared on his cloth as a hat gently floated down on top of him.
"Bí sábháilte. Tá grá againn duit."
She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and rushed down the steps, her husband stumbling towards her with the darkness right behind him.

They said nothing to each other, tears rolling down both of their faces as they held hands, as they each casted their most powerful spells. No matter how strong, they were only able to hold it back for a second; the darkness consuming them both as they vanished into thin air.

The street was empty, no signs of any threat left but an overcoat at the end of the steps.
A loud wail erupted from the door, the baby sensing he was alone cried out for his parents. Rain poured down harder, lightning and thunder arose and caused him to cry out even more.
A young woman walked out of the building, noticing the little bundle at her feet, and gasped.
She picked him up and checked the rest of the street, searching for signs of anyone around. She saw the overcoat and quickly picked it up, covering the baby in it as she took him inside.

The woman walked into the building and headed over to the sitting room, a fireplace warming the place as she sat down, gently holding the baby.

"What were you doing out there little one," she asked as he slowly stopped crying, looking up at her only to yawn.
"Well, someone's tired isn't he."
She rocked him back and forth and finally noticed the hat, setting it and the overcoat onto a table.
"Strange to leave these behind..."
She stared, affectionately and worried, at the baby for one last time before he slowly began to drift off.
"Rest now, tomorrow will start your new life. I promise to take care of you, for now"
The little boy blinked once more, his blue eyes dulling as he fell asleep, no longer being aware of anything but dreaming in color and happiness.
